BIRTHDAY’S
ANNIVERSARIES
From the Prayer Closet - Then you will call, and the Lord will answer, you will cry for help, and he will say Here am I. Isaiah 58:9 Sometimes you might wonder why prayer is necessary. After all, if God is all-knowing and all-powerful, why does it even matter if we pray or intercede? The humbling truth is that God chooses to operate this way, inviting us to know Him and partner with Him through prayer just because He loves us. He wants a relationship with us, and regular conversations with Him are an important part of that process, just as communication is vital to the health of any relationship we have. Prayer and intercession also put us in a place to see God’s perspective on things, rather than being limited by our own perceptions. For example, there may be a person in your life who is difficult to love, or even like, but as you begin to pray for them, God shows you what He sees and feels about them. On a larger scale, there could be events taking place in your city or nation that seem completely dark and hopeless, but as you intercede, God reveals how He is working behind the scenes or what is causing the problem. It is amazing to realize God wants to generously pour His wisdom and heart into us through this dialogue. We are not on our own to figure life out. God is ready and more than willing to listen to our hearts and open up His own. Generals of Intercession
Opportunities to Pray - Join us on Sunday evening, April 12, at 6:30 PM in the sanctuary for prayer and praise as we “Worship
Our King”! Our praise team, Doxology, will be leading the worship. - Wednesday, May 6, at 6:00 PM, will be our National Day of Prayer Service. Arrangements are being made for a guest speaker. The sanctuary will also be open on Thursday, May 7, for those who would like to come
and pray for our nation. “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and come and forgive their sins
and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 - Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 in the chapel to pray for the church and its’ ministries
Join Marie Strohl on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM at the Hall Center to pray for the County School Board Meeting
Another Opportunity to Pray and make your requests known to others! Come to the chapel to pray! Entry to the chapel is from the hallway just behind the choir loft. The chapel is always open from the outside with entry through the children’s playground. - Log in your prayer request and date in the journal provided so others can pray for your need. - When you come to pray and pray for a request, please sign or initial so the requester will know that others are lifting prayers on their behalf. - Please note by your request when prayers are answered so that we can give praise to God for those answers! - “Where two or more are gathered” Find a partner or partners to pray with so there is someone to agree with you in prayer. - Pray for our pastor, the staff, and leaders of the church. - Pray for the membership and ministries of the church. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 Your Prayer Committee

DELIBERATE WORSHIP
So many things have changed in the past year! Excitement blooms at every turn. I look to see God in everything-but so often I miss what he puts in front of me. How about you? This year I have resolved to look harder-stay more focused...on Him and less on me. The Devil would love nothing more than for us to become discouraged and throw in the towel...or at the very least, become lethargic in our walk. Believing and trusting goes hand in hand with one act of love toward Jesus Christ-and it makes all the difference in our day...it is worship. It takes a deliberate action to stay focused-it won’t happen by itself. There are a million things vying for our attention. Start simple. Start by looking at your surroundings. If you are like me you have much to be thankful for. We have food, a roof over our heads and health. Even when sickness does strike, and it will at some point...I have a healer, I have a redeemer...and no matter the outcome. I Have Hope. I tell him how magnificent his creation is. The things that God has created, take my heart to a place of worship when I stop long enough to realize-He did this for our enjoyment! Every star-every color of the rainbow-it is for us. All for us! In the busyness of our days, take time to worship him. You’ll be amazed at the difference it will make in your day. Deliberate worship. Daily worship. From the sincere heart is an offering of sweet incense to the Father. When I’m driving I just sing out “Praise God, Praise Jesus,” over and over I say it out loud! And with much feeling-and when I do-when I put my whole heart and soul into expressing my gratitude to Him-he floods my heart and soul right back with a washing with tears and a cleansing and readying for my day...The day he blessed me with. When I am deliberate about my worship, it makes all the difference in my day. Join me? You sing your song to him, I’ll sing mine. He will love them both.
Happy Easter and shalom Dave Johnson
Health Update… Praise the Lord! I seem to be doing a bit better than last month. I started the new chemo drug and it seems to
be helping. My liver pain is greatly reduced and I have an appetite again. For a week and half after the last treatment, I had some severe mouth sores and was unable to eat and was trying to stay on liquids. I was a mess, I lost almost 10 pounds and Nikki was a nervous wreck and quite panicky. Thankfully, they cleared up and I resumed eating. Actually, I’ve gained back about 5 pounds in the past week. I had another round of chemo this week and I hope the mouth sores do not return. Definitely not fun… Other than that, I have some good days and some not so good days. Hopefully, the good days will once again outnumber the not so good days. Please keep us in your prayers that the treatments will continue to work and that the Lord will heal me.

“Bee” the Difference
March Mission’s Month was a great success. Kristen Alberda from the Methodist Children’s Home, Linda English from Reimagine Wedgewood, Pastor Willie Williams from Top of the Bottom Ministries, and Teen Challenge blessed our congregation with testimonies of how Pine Forest’s Faith pledges and service have impacted their ministries. Your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness display your faith at work. Many mission opportunities are available for you to “Bee” the difference for the world’s sake. On April 18th, come and be a part of sharing Jesus’ love with the Wedgewood community through Reimagine Wedgewood. This event will be held at the Wedgewood Community Center from 10:00 to 3:00. A sign up poster is in the FH. “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” John Wesley Missions Committee
