• Hi,•  • A major challenge facing many organisations is to find ways to improve the management and security of their IT • infrastructure. A secure and well-managed IT Infrastructure is essential to the success of every organisation. • Not only does it provide the necessary foundation for all systems and applications, but its strength is also a key • accelerator of profitable growth. With so much riding on this critical backbone, infrastructure solutions are the • most important technology investment for the majority of organisations. •  • Practically all IT Managers would like to do far less reactive fire-fighting work and become more strategic and • proactive with greater alignment to business requirements. • With this in mind I would like to invite you to attend one of two interactive morning seminars in Dublin and • Belfast. •   • Topics covered: • Infrastructure Management• Security• Data backup• Virtualisation•  • Dublin • Location:            The Morrison Hotel, Ormond Quay• Date:                     29th of May 2007, • Time:                   09:00 - 12:30 • Click here to register or to see a detailed agenda•  • If you have any queries about the event please let me know.•  I hope to see you there. • Regards,•  • Declan Faller

Nicholas, You know what?  Dell are very good at virtualisation.  Get hold of their services guys & buy the whole solution from

them? As for what to do with your $8,000 – go buy MOM & DPM (you’ll still have money left over)! Dave Northey

Why we chose Virtualization

• Needed more servers • Would not get budget for more servers• Would get budget to replace existing servers • Did not have space for much more equipment• Do not need processing power as most

servers only using a low overhead

Page 13: Welcome Maxol Limited Nicholas Merton Systems Administrator Dublin 26th March 2009

Why we chose Microsoft Virtualization

• More budget for additional equipment• Primarily Microsoft infrastructure in-house• Did not need extended VMWare functionality• Strategic direction• Management of risk

When the project is finished

Our thoughts on Virtualisation

• Return on Investment is not immediate• The timing of the project and finding the right

partner to help you through it is vital• The overall user experience does not change

greatly during this phase of the project• Virtualization is not instant
