Keys to Surviving in Spiritual Battle
Joshua 11:16 - 23New American Standard Bible
Joshua 11:16-1816 Thus Joshua took all that land: the hill country and all the Negev, all that land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill
country of Israel and its lowland 17 from Mount Halak, that rises toward Seir, even as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon at
the foot of Mount Hermon. And he captured all their kings and struck them down and put them to death. 18 Joshua waged war a long
time with all these kings.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the
weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the
knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
Matthew 10:33-3833 But whoever denies Me before men, I will
also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but
a sword.
35 For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a
daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.
37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves
son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
2 Timothy 4:7
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the
faith;
Matthew 11:12
12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven
suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.
Joshua 11:19-2019 There was not a city which made peace
with the sons of Israel except the Hivites living in Gibeon; they took them all in
battle. 20 For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, to meet Israel in battle in order
that he might utterly destroy them, that they
might receive no mercy, but that he might destroy them, just as the Lord had
commanded Moses.
Romans 9:17
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I raised you up, to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed
throughout the whole earth.”
Exodus 8:1515 But when Pharaoh saw that there was
relief, he hardened his heart and did not listen to them, as the Lord had said.
Exodus 8:32
32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let the people
go.
Exodus 9:34
34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart,
he and his servants.
1 Timothy 1:15-1615 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full
acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am
foremost of all.
16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might
demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in
Him for eternal life.
2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any
to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Joshua 11:21-2321 Then Joshua came at that time and cut
off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel.
Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities. 22 There were no Anakim left in the land of the sons of Israel;
only in Gaza,
in Gath, and in Ashdod some remained.
23 So Joshua took the whole land,
according to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses, and Joshua gave it for an
inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Thus the land
had rest from war.
Numbers 13:32-33
32 So they gave out to the sons of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through
which we have gone, in spying it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people whom we saw in it are
men of great size.
33 There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our
own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
12 Then he said to me, 12 Then he said to me, ““Do not be Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day afraid, Daniel, for from the first day
that you set your heart on that you set your heart on understanding understanding thisthis and on humbling and on humbling
yourself before your God, your yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come words were heard, and I have come
in response to your words.in response to your words.
Daniel 10:12-13
13 But the prince of the kingdom of 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for Persia was withstanding me for
twenty-one days; then twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief behold, Michael, one of the chief
princes, came to help me, for I had princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of been left there with the kings of
Persia.Persia.
Genesis 6:4
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when
the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the
mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
1 John 4:4
4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the
world.
Ephesians 6:14-1814 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and
having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16
in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 With all prayer and
petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for
all the saints,
