Baptism Scheduled Tonight, during the Evening Worship Service, we will observe the Ordi-nance of Baptism. If you have been saved but never had the courage to follow the Lord in baptism, this would be a great opportunity to do so. Just come forward during the invitation this morning and let one of our pastors know your desire.

Known Sick: Carson Dalton Rev. Michael Viles Jim Yarnell Jackie & Gail Monroe’s grandson Vicky Godfrey's step-father Kylie Cardwell

Wednesday Night Dinner Dinner will be served each week on Wednesday night from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This weeks menu: Pork Bar-B-Q, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Slaw, and Dessert.

R.A.C.K. Ministry Trunk and Treat is Saturday, October 25. Due to construction on the new church property, this year's Trunk and Treat will be held at the Gibbs Ruri-tan Park. Sign-up sheets are located in the vestibule and by the church office for those planning to participate. We need as many cars as possible to make this event a success, please consider participating. In addition, we needs lots of candy! If you would like to donate individually wrapped candy or would like to donate money to purchase candy, please see Debbie Car-penter. Donated candy can be left in the coat room of the sanctuary.

Family Bible Study is Vital The journey of life is a complicated one. For a successful trip we all need to go over God’s road-map for living…the Bible. Please join one of our many classes each Sun-day morning at 9:15 a.m.

Here’s Hope Mission House

Celebrating a new record at the spring…our Here’s Hope Mission set a new rec-ord on Thursday at the Mission House…they helped 75 families, of which 13 were new families. WOW! The Mission House is still stocking house and preparing for Community Day on Saturday, October 11, from 10:00AM-1:00PM. Please be much in prayer for this day as we minister to the needs of our own community. A person never knows what encouragement is needed on a day like this. Someone may just need to know others care, but most of all God cares. Pray for each worker, singer, and the people in need & the people helping the needy!! That's why "Little is much if God is in it"!! ~The Mission House will be closed to the public on Thursday, October 9; however workers will be there preparing the for community day. The house will reopen to the public on Thursday, October 23, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

CSBC Academy of Music Four week music lessons are offered weekly in half hour, 45 minute, or full hour sessions here at the church. Prices are as follows: $25 – per half hour les-son, or $80 for four weeks of half hour lessons; $35 – per 45 minute lesson, or $120 for four weeks of 45 minute les-sons; $45 – per hour lesson, or $140 for four weeks of hour long lessons. Special rates are given for group/class instruction to households with more than one stu-dent. For more information, please see Wayne Goforth.

Prayer Ministry The purpose of this ministry is to bring needs in the Church Family before God in prayer. There are four options to send prayer requests or to register to receive e-mail prayer request. Send a voice mail or text to 236-1087, send an e-mail to [email protected], or go to the church website at www.clearspringsbaptist.net.

a note from the pastor

"Down Boy” Two dogs met one day and the first said to the other, “What is

your name?” “It's ‘down boy, I think.’” Have you ever felt like your

name could be "down boy?" Sometimes life can seem to always put

us down. Satan, known as the “accuser of the brethren” pitches into

help us feel worthless, and like we’ve been a total failure. Ever felt

like you were a failure as a parent, a husband/wife, or as a Chris-

tian? Ever feel like resigning your class, ceasing to sing, or to ever

get involved again?

God wants us to know that we don’t have to be famous, but

faithful. He notices our efforts and knows our hearts. God knows

you and loves you deeply. Job cried out one day, “The Lord

knoweth the way that I take and when He hath tried me I shall come

forth as gold.” Don’t fall into the “down-boy” syndrome. You are

important to God; you are somebody because of His grace. Don’t

give up.

-Jerry

Women’s Retreat We are thrilled to have Laura West join us again this year. Laura is a Christian comedian and inspirational speaker. She and her hus-band, John, have been married for over 20 years. Over these years, their home has been through many trials and have seen many miracles. As biological parents they waited 12 long years before they were able to have a child of their own. As adoptive parents, they adopted a blind child, Maleka, whom was burned as an infant. As foster parents, they cared for over 100 medically fragile foster children, even had to bury a foster child whom they were in the process of adopting. Laura and Maleka travel the country sharing their family’s remarkable testimony in song, testi-mony, and laughter. Registration forms are available in the vestibule for those wishing to attend. In addition, scholarships are available for those needing assistance. Please see Bobbie Wyatt or Ashlee D’Lugos for more information. If you are interested in helping with the retreat, please see Bobbie Wyatt today.

Bearing Precious Seeds Ministry The outreach ministry, Bearing Precious Seeds, will be writing letters on Wednesday nights. Letter Writing Team #1 will meet on the 1st Wednes-day night and Letter Writing Team #2 will meet on the 3rd Wednesday night. The groups will meet in Room 118 (Small Conference Room downstairs) at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to get involved with this minis-try either writing letters or visitation, please see Pastor Eddie.
