Mission of the Booster Organization

The organization is organized and operated for the charitable and education purposes of Charles W. Flanagan High School in promoting competitive speech and debate education; facilitating and attending tournaments; marketing the speech and debate concept to all stakeholders and in so doing supporting the Charles W. Flanagan High School speech and debate team.

Booster Membership2015-2016

• Membership is only $10 per person and tonight only you get a free Booster t-shirt when you join!!

WHY JOIN???– Because you are supporting the program– Membership enables you to have a voice and give input to the

Booster club and enables voting rights– You are matching the commitment your child has made to Falcon

Speech and Debate– You get a nifty t-shirt to wear when you volunteer at the After School

Tournaments and the Falcon Invitational or any other day of the week when you want to show your proud support

– You and your child are joining a family that will be a part of their high school experience

Key Initiatives of the

Booster Organization

• Fundraise via vending at our ASTs (After School Tournaments)

• Host the Judges Lounge during the Falcon Invitational

• Financially support the Speech and Debate program at Flannigan High School (i.e., stipends for coaching assistance, equipment such as tablets and printers, travel costs)

We need your participation on a Booster Sub Committee

• 4 subcommittees have been established to help ensure we meet our initiatives

• The success of our Booster Club depends on the level of support we receive from our parent and family volunteers.

• There is something for everyone to do, si no hablan ingles, no hay problema, nosotros tenemos algo que usted puede hacer.

AST Committee

• Co-Leads: Michelle Duek and Ericka Deal • Purchase goods for monthly ASTs• Set up to vend at the monthly ASTs• Vending• Cash control• Take down vending• Inventory and store remaining goods

Volunteer Committee

• Committee Lead: Estela Shelley• Ensuring volunteers are available for AST

vending and Hallway monitoring• Ensuring volunteers for the Falcon Invitational,

working Judges Lounge

Judging Committee

• Committee Lead: Dave Ungurait• Work with Mrs. McGraw to ensure that volunteer

judges have necessary training and support• Ensure that judges have links to online web based

training and sample ballots• Work with judges to obtain proper volunteer

clearance• Ensure we have judges scheduled for the various

tournaments Falcon Speech and Debate is participating in

Falcon Invitational Committee

• Co-Leads: Fran Tate and Lori Halpern-Drock• Develop and sell ad space in invitational

program• Responsible for all coordination of meals and

snacks in the Judges Lounge• Set up • Man the lounge throughout the day• Clean up

The First AST of the Year

• September 16th @ Flanagan High School• 3:30pm-7:30pm• Parents needed to help vend and hallway

monitor• Please make sure you get your LEVEL 1

Security Clearance to participate
