On the table to your left is a folder with you child’s name. In the folder is a progress report of your child’s work so far.

Also on table is a questionnaire please fill out and place in the box on my desk.

Please feel free to explore the classroom. I will be at front to answer any of your

questions.

My name is Victoria Beckmann and I will be teaching your children’s fourth period Language Arts Class. I received my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood

Education at John A. Logan College and I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from

SIU-C. I greatly enjoy teaching children and I hope this year is

filled with a lot of learning and a lot fun.Feel free to contact by phone, e-mail, text, or in person.

We will all respect one another. We will not talk when the teacher is talking. We will raise our hands to talk. We will keep our hands, feet, and all other

body parts to ourselves. We will sit in our chairs correctly.

Class Time 11:30am-12:15pm 11:30am: Enter class, attendance, and turning in

homework.

11:35am: Daily lesson

11:50am: Work time

12:10pm: Complete assignment book, turn in homework (if done), and clean up work area.

12:15pm: End of Class. *Schedule is subject to change

During the daily lesson and work time students will have a chance to work with these technologies. *All activities are non graded but progress is monitored and recorded.

Computer Time: Students will have a chance to work on computers to improve computer skills, typing, and learning.

I-Pad Time: Each day four select students will have a chance to to work, explore, and learn on the I-Pads.

Clickers will be used for quizzes, games, and student impute. Clickers are wireless response systems that allows teachers to request information and for students to respond by using a "clicker" or hand-held response pad to send his or her information to a receiver.

Moby Pad: I will use a Moby Pad in class to have free range of motion to conduct class while interacting with students.

Classroom Website: This classroom has a website; http://beckmannvclasssite.weebly.com. The website has assignment information, contact information, resources, and more. I will also have a daily lesson blog to help students who have missed class. There are also surveys I would like parents to complete so I have more information about you and your child.
