Dear Friends, Some people think St. Paul is the greatest missionary. Others St. Francis Xavier or even Mother Teresa. I’m pretty sure they’re wrong. The greatest missionary of all times (not counting the Holy Spirit, who is the guiding force of all missions and all missionaries) has to be Mary of Nazareth, the mother of Jesus. True, Mary hasn’t contributed a single great new thought to theology, or founded a religious community, or become famous for concrete acts of charity to the poor like the saint of Calcutta. Her sole missionary tool is overwhelming sheer total maternal love. And in the power of that love she has cherished, consoled, counseled and converted hundreds of millions of people --- highly intelligent brilliant people … and simple people with not much schooling who perhaps can’t think well at all. We all know people quite certain that Mary came to them in prayer, in a dream, a coincidence, a special conversation. Ireland has St. Patrick, and Rome has St. Peter and St. Paul … but Mexico, indeed all the Americas, and in fact the whole world … has Mother Mary as its evangelizer and missionary saint. The jillion flowers we have in church are hardly enough to express our admiration and appreciation to God for her! Peace, All Good! Fr. Paz, Todo Bueno Padre Mike

A Note from the Administrator...

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP BIBLE STUDY

St. Margaret Mary Women’s Fellowship invites you to join us this New Year in a 10-week study called Proverbs – Learning to Live Wisely.

The Book of Proverbs teaches us how to be successful and prosperous in our work, our dealings with family and friends, and our relationship with God. The direction and guidance they give us is practical, concrete, reasonable and fruitful. We welcome women

18 years and older to make plans once a week to come, study and seek guidance from the Scriptures and other Catholic Christian women and strengthen your personal relationship with Christ.

Register now so together we may grow in wisdom! Our study begins Thursday, January 15th at 6:30 p.m. in our parish hall. There will be registration after all Masses the weekend of January 3rd and 4th. You need not be Catholic or a member of SMM Parish to join. The registration fee is $15.00 due the first night. This includes your book and other materials you will receive during

the study. Feel free to invite friends, neighbors, or family to participate with you! This is a great opportunity to meet new ladies and enjoy the fellowship of other Christian women.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Martha Ward at (909) 598-8220.
