Sunday Intensive WorkshopsAHP Development Primer: A Workshop on the Fundamentals of Healthcare DevelopmentLooking for an intensive intro to healthcare philanthropy? Or maybe you need a great refresher? Plan to arrive early on Sunday for a full-day, comprehensive overview designed especially for professionals who are new to philanthropy or healthcare philanthropy.

This fast-paced workshop will focus on healthcare philanthropy as a profession and the role of a well-organized, broad-based program. The session will cover the key elements of philanthropic practice, including annual giving, major and capital giving and planned giving. In addition, faculty will touch upon organizational models and various constituent groups, such as individuals, corporations and foundations.

The AHP Primer is highly recommended for newcomers, support staff, board members, and philanthropy professionals new to healthcare. The program fee includes the all-day workshop, the AHP Primer CD/Manual, course notes, continental breakfast, breaks, and a light lunch.

The Asking WorkshopMaking the ask can be the most daunting of tasks for any heathcare fundraising professional. Getting this part right makes all the difference when engaging with your donors and prospects. If you’re seeking to develop your skills and confidence, as well as new approaches to interacting with donors and soliciting support for your organizations, The Asking Workshop is a must.

This in-depth workshop will inspire you to find new ways of engaging with your donors through team-based exercises that take you through the cycle of cultivation, from identification of a donor through solicitation and beyond. The workshop combines both theory and interactive role-play that will leave you feeling confident and equipped to successfully “make the ask” as part of your fundraising strategy.

The Asking Workshop is most valuable for newcomers and those new to making an ask. The program fee includes the half-day (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM) program on Sunday, course materials and a light lunch.

Julia Campbell, MPA, Consultant, Nonprofit Storytelling and Social Media StrategyHow to Use Storytelling Throughout the Donor Journey

Nonprofit fundraisers know that effective storytelling is vital to building long-term sustainable support for their cause. Compelling stories grab attention, inspire emotion, and have the potential to turn passive donors into passionate advocates.

However, not all of your donors are created equal - and not all of them are in the same stage of their journey with you. So why are you telling them all the same story?

In this session, digital storytelling expert Julia Campbell will share some of most powerful ways that storytelling can be used throughout the donor journey to inspire people to take action and deepen their engagement with your work. She will share actionable strategies and real-world examples of small and mid-size nonprofits using digital storytelling to amplify their ideas and grow their movements.
