PRELUDE Andante Felix Mendelssohn INTROIT CALL TO WORSHIP

Clap your hands, all you peoples: shout to God with loud songs of joy.

For the Lord, the most high, is awesome, a great King over all the earth.

God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises!

For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a joyous song!

* HYMN #645 Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above * CALL TO CONFESSION * PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Father God, how often our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has been in our midst but we did not invite him in. Weak faith has permitted our eyes to be closed without even knowing we were blind to his presence. Forgive us for these sins against our Lord. Open our eyes through the breaking of the bread, that our deepened faith may forever see our Lord's presence. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen.

* SILENT CONFESSION *ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Page 3: WELCOME [thechurchco-production.s3.amazonaws.com] · WELCOME to FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF AMBLER A place where lives are changed by Christ and we live out our faith together. May

* OUR RESPONSE #581 Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

* THE PEACE OF CHRIST CHILDREN’S MESSAGE PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION SCRIPTURE Luke 24:13-35 MESSAGE Breaking Bread The Reverend Donald Kazen * HYMN #500 Be Known to Us in Breaking Bread THE CELEBRATION OF THE LORD’S SUPPER AND THE PRAYERS OF GOD’S PEOPLE One at the Feast Craig Courtney Sanctuary Choir

He ate bread at their tables, He joined them in their feasts, and many asked the Savior, “Why do You dine with these, the outcast and the sinner, the dying and the poor? There are many greater than these You sit before.” REFRAIN: Break the bread and pour the wine, let them drink, let them dine, none is greater than the least, all are one, one at the feast.

Page 4: WELCOME [thechurchco-production.s3.amazonaws.com] · WELCOME to FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF AMBLER A place where lives are changed by Christ and we live out our faith together. May

So let the poor and the wealthy be seated side by side, the sick among the healthy, the widow by the bride, the hungry and the thirsty with those who have been fed and share the feast together; come share the wine and bread. REFRAIN: Gather at the table, come and take your place, there is room for many at the feast of grace. With the bread remember, with the wine recall Jesus gave His body and His blood for all. REFRAIN: Break the bread and pour the wine, let them drink let them dine, none is greater than the least, we are one, we are one, we are one at the feast. CCLI# 1147526

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

OFFERTORY Jesus Loves Me Don Coates *DOXOLOGY #606

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow: praise Him, all creatures here below; praise Him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

* PRAYER OF DEDICATION * HYMN #451 Open My Eyes, That I May See

WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOUR GENEROSITY. $5,000.00 was contributed to the Easter Offering that will go to the work of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA.) PDA has had boots on the ground helping communities deal with the aftermath of destruction caused by natural disasters such as wildfires in California and a Super Typhoon in the Philippines. Your donations will help those who are going through unimaginable circumstances. Thank you for your support. S.O.S. (Share Our Shopping) IS BACK! The deacons have prepared shopping bags for you to take and fill with provisions for the Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard and Hope Gardens. On each bag is a list of items that are most needed. The filled bags are to be returned to the church by Sunday, May 26, and can be placed in the collection area by the Welcome Center.
