• You are working toward to the goal of 35 problems in 1 minute and 45 seconds!

Talk about it:

Mon: Mrs. Leonard bought 14 ornaments for her tree. Her husband bought 27 ornaments. How many ornaments did Mr. and Mrs. Leonard buy?

Tues: What are some elements of the Mystery genre?

Wed: Name and compare 4 landforms.Thurs: What does it mean to regroup when

adding numbers?

Reading is Thinking!

• Record guided reading homework on reading log provided.

• Your child should complete any additional work sent home with their guided reading book (they know what is expected).

• Return bag, book and log to school daily.

for a list of sight words . *Your child should be able to read all words and spell them correctly in their writing.

Communication Folder

• School folder will come home daily

• Please remove all papers each day

• Send all communication in this folder (notes, signed forms, lunch money, etc.)

• Completed work, office notes, PTA info., and fliers will come home on Fridays

CHAMPS

Absences•Send a written excuse within 72 hours of the absence .  If a note isn’t received after those 72 hours the absence will remain unexcused.

•If a student is absent for more than 5 days, you must send a Dr.’s excuse along with a parent’s written note.

•If your child is late due to a Dr.’s appointment, he/she is counted absent unless a Dr.’s note is turned in that day. •Travel and/or vacations aren’t excused.

SnackStudents can bring a simple, healthy

snack that will not disturb learning. Examples: cheese sticks, apples,

pretzels, Goldfish (Finger Foods- nothing that requires utensils).

Please stress to your child that snack time is not lunch.

Birthdays

•Sugar treats such as brownies, donuts, cupcakes and cookies are acceptable. No drinks, balloons , party favors, etc.

•Let your child’s teacher know a couple days in advance if you plan on bringing a birthday snack.

•Send these items with your 2nd grader in the morning . If you bring them later in the day, you will be asked to leave them in the office.

Lunch

• 12:05-12:35• Sign in at the office• Give slip to a 2nd grade teacher• You may only eat with your child on the stage

Going Home

Send a note to the teacher if there is a change in transportation.

Call the office if a change is made during the school day.
