• Early Bird Kindergarten begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.
• Lunch: 45 minutes (between 11 a.m. and 12 noon)
• Late Bird Kindergarten begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.

New Documentation Requirement for Personal
Belief Exemptions
• As of January 1, 2016, Personal Belief Exemptions are no longer accepted in California. Students must be fully immunized by the first day of school. If immunizations aren’t completed when you enroll, you must bring updated immunization record to the district on or before the 1st day of school.

Frequently Asked Questions
• Transitional Kindergarten students turn 5 years old between September 2nd and December 2nd.
• Kindergarten students need to be 5 years old by September 1st.
• Notification of school assignment will be mailed between mid-July and early August (for those registering Feb 1- March 25).
• Contact each school individually to request a tour. • Each school site has various meet and greet
activities and orientations for TK and Kindergarten.
• Classroom assignments will be posted online through Aeries Parent Portal

Residency
• Enter your address here. • If you live outside of
Albany, you must apply for an inter-district transfer from your district of residence (DOR).
• Once we receive the approved application from your DOR, your student’s name will placed on our waiting list
• If space is available, you will be contacted, but not until after the first two weeks of school.

School Selection
Your request for preferred school site is not guaranteed. You may select your preferred school site, but school assignment is based on space availability, not proximity of your home address.
Registrations completed during the priority enrollment (February 1 – March 25) period will be placed in a lottery (if necessary) for your preferred school.
