Construction Management, Operations and compliance to Australian Standards.
Together our directors have experience in Design, Installation, Project
Management and commissioning of over 200MW of power generation, and all
facets of Diesel and Gas fuelled power generation installations. Installation and
Commissioning of High voltage switchgear, switchyards, transformers,
underground reticulation systems and more recently commissioning of the
Adelaide Desalination Plant Electrical Reticulation Systems are among the
latest projects AMAR Group are involved in.
Recent Projects
Lonsdale 20MW Diesel Peaking Power Station Relocation (2010–2011)
AMAR Group responsibilities for this project included; design input, electrical
supervision, AEMO requirements, technical support and liaising with ETSA
Utilities for the grid connection, validation testing and protection system
commissioning.
This project, located in Lonsdale South Australia, required the de-
commissioning of eighteen containerised generator sets, diesel fuel storage
tanks, four 11kV Ring Main Units, two 11kV Fault Current Limiting Reactors
along with the control and protection systems.
The existing equipment, along with a new concrete pre-cast control room and
switch room, complete with 11kV High Voltage switchboard was instated on the
new site. New auxiliary distribution boards, control panels, control systems and
auxiliary services were installed and commissioned. Two 11kV high voltage
circuits were installed from the new switchroom to the nearby ETSA substation
to enable the exporting of 20MW into the electricity network.
AMAR group were contracted by Cummins Power Generation, Energy Solutions
Business to assist in providing their client, Infratil Energy Australia, the
relocated Peaking Power Station Solution. This was to make way for a new
65MW Peaking Power Station to be built on the site of the existing plant.
Pt Stanvac 65MW Diesel Peaking Power Station (2010 – 2011)
AMAR Group worked closely with the Cummins Power Generation, Energy
Solutions Business construction and engineering team to assist in providing
their client, Infratil Energy Australia a high performance 65MW Diesel Peaking
Power Station.
AMAR Group responsibilities for this project included; initial engineering design
input, installation and commissioning of the 66kV substation, construction
temporary power, supervision of electrical installation, technical support and
liaison with ETSA Utilities for the grid connection, AEMO requirements,
validation testing and full commissioning.
This project consisted of thirty-six diesel generators capable of providing nearly
60MW of electricity into the national electricity grid. These generators are
installed within six acoustically designed buildings, all containing auxiliary power
and lighting systems, control systems and mechanical services. The 11kV
alternators are connected to 11kV switchboards, which in turn are connected to
11kV/66kV power transformers connected to a 66kV switchyard and remotely
controlled switching equipment. One 66kV circuit run underground to the nearby
ETSA Utilities sub-station where the Power Station is connected to the 66kV
electricity network.
This plant is capable of being fully online within five minutes and supplying
nearly 60MW into the national electricity grid to help meet short-term peak load
demand on the distribution network.
Royal North Shore Hospital Co-Generation Plant (2011 – 2012)
AMAR Group was engaged by Cummins Power Generation, Energy Solutions
Business to provide technical support, complete the electrical and control
system installation, and provide testing and commissioning services for the
new, NSW Health, Royal North Shore Hospital located in St Leonards, 10km
from Sydney.
The project consisted of two 2MWe gas engines to provide 4MWe of
cogeneration base load power, and two 2MWe diesel standby engines. The
11kV Generators are connected to the Hospital High Voltage distribution
system, Capable of being synchronised with the local electricity network and
able to meet the total electricity load of the hospital services if required.
The cogeneration plant provides waste heat recovery via the exhaust gas heat
exchangers while mechanical ventilation ensure the plant room and engines are
supplied with fresh air for its safe and efficient operation. Gas supply and
control systems, Diesel fuel storage and supply systems, along with Cummins
own Generator set control system, are part of the fully integrated & automatic
solution provided to the project head contractor, Thiess Pty Ltd.
AMAR Group were able to deliver our works on time, within budget and
provided Cummins Power Generation with a high quality installation receiving
accolades from all stake holders involved with this Project.
SA Water - Adelaide Desalination Plant (2011 – 2013)
AMAR Group were Contracted by Abigroup Contractors Pty Ltd and McConnell
Dowell Constructors (AUST) Pty Ltd to provide Electrical Commissioning
Services.
AMAR Group responsibilities for this project include lead electrical
commissioning engineer, electrical supervision, technical support and liaison
with ETSA utilities for the grid connection, validation testing and commissioning
of the 11kV distribution network, electrical infrastructure and the plant &
equipment.
The Adelaide Desalination Plant, located at Lonsdale, South Australia will
provide the city of Adelaide with up to 100Gl of water per year, making it
capable of providing up to 50% of Adelaide's domestic water supply.
AGL Moranbah Coal Seam Methane Power Station (2013)
The AGL Moranbah power station consisted of 8 x 1.57MW Cummins
reciprocating coal seam gas lean burn generators that had been in operation for
10 years, these generators were replaced with Cummins 1.75MW.
AMAR Groups task was to manage the disconnection and refurbishment of the
electrical infrastructure and control systems upgrade, reconnect the new
generators and complete the re-energisation and commissioning tasks whilst
the existing station maintained the required output.
