You can call me. . . Ms. Z.

• 11th year teaching• Art is fun• Professional artist• Loves dogs• Loves to read• Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan• Broke 2 Guinness

World Records

Art class is fun.

I like to make you think.

I’m a professional artist

I read about 2 books a week

I am a huge Sci-Fi/Fantasy Nerd

I helped to break 3 Guinness World Records. Yup. It’s in the book!

The Rules. . .You gotta know em’

This class follows the 10/10 rule*

*No passes given during the first 10 minutes or the last minutes of class.

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

No rude, foul, suggestive, inappropriate language and/or rude language about race, gender, sexuality, or appearance.

Participate in the class community by doing your work, helping others, treating materials with respect, and cleaning up all messes (not just

yours).

Mobile devices are to be used only during approved times.

I will never harm your phone (ever). But, I will confiscate it, and your guardian will have to pick it up after school.

No talking when Ms. Z. talks to the class.

Seriously.

No aimless wandering of the classroom.

Consequences (don’t let this be you)• 1st time, warning• 2nd time, call home• 3rd time, detention• 4th time, administrative referral

A few non-rules to consider

How I feel when 300+ students ask me, “What are we doing today?”

Check the front board. I have our class agenda and directions printed there.

You cannot leave class without a pass

This class is big. Keep it safe by pushing in your chair.

How I feel when you come in tardy and disrupt the class

So, don’t be tardy (unless you have a good reason)

If you are tardy: Come in quietly, and sit down.

I dismiss you, not the bell

Please, don’t make rude faces and/or noises when you look at art.

It can hurt people’s feelings. And, you look silly.

How I want you to feel in Art class

Follow all of the rules, and you will have a blast in Art class!
