What is IB Math SL 1?
• International Baccalaureate Mathematics Standard Level 1 (Pre-Calculus & Statistics) -
the 1st year of International Diploma Programme• Sequenced after successful completion of Geometry
and Algebra 2 courses• Prerequisite for the 2nd year - IB Math SL 2 (Calculus)• Recognized by colleges on the level of AP courses
IB Math SL credit accepted by –

Syllabus Outline
• Algebra concepts – review• Functions and Equations
– Linear, quadratics, inverse, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic (analytic and graphic approaches); sequences and series*
• Circular functions and trigonometry– All trigonometric functions (analytic and graphic
approaches)• Vectors
– 2D, 3D, applications – in higher extent
• Statistics and probability – selected chapters in the textbook

• Assigned every night
• Will be checked and all questions addressed every day
Extra Help – Office Hours
• Offered during lunch 1 – 3 times a week
– Monday in Media Center– Tuesday and/or Wednesday in 218– Also by an appointment – per student
request
• Mandatory when grade is below a 78
