✘ Volunteer procedures- parents will be cleared once a year
✘ Field trips - Drivers must be cleared 2 weeks prior to trip
✘ Yearbooks- They will be sold through the school this year. We plan to send home a form for parents to fill out to purchase.
✘ Independent Study- Minimum of 10 school days notice and a minimum of 5 school days to qualify. You can direct any questions to the office.
✘ Gates: Enter by Kinder or Alley; please don’t hold door behind you in C/D wing.
Your audience will listen to you or read the content, but won’t do both.

completed using Khan Academy and IXL.○ ELA, Social Studies, Science, Writing assignments in
correlation with classroom lessons○ 50 minutes of homework (Monday-Thursday)
★ Student Planners:○ Students are to write in them EVERYDAY!
★ Projects:○ Class time is given for most projects

A 90-100%
B 80-89%
C 70-79%
D 60-69%
F Below 60%
Student-led conferences will begin September 18, a sign-up genius email will be sent out one week prior. I will announce the date/time of sign-up genius before it gets posted. Tests receive parent signatures.

Comprehensive program designed for 21st century skills
★ Online component is on Clever app.
★ Tests in Spelling are given weekly; tests on comprehension skills will be given at the end of each 3 week cycle.
★ Goal for end of year is to be at a 6th grade level or above 800 Lexile. Lexile measures reading ability. Lexile is something to consider when choosing books.
40 book challenge based on in-class reading of books of different genres. All books will be on student’s Lexile level or appropriate range.
AR tests will be taken after each book is read, to help with accountability.
