Dear Lord, my child is changing.
She has less need for me.
I can feel her pulling away and yet I want her to always be my little girl.
Guide her during her High School years to choose friends who will strengthen her faith in you.
Help her to turn to you in her decision making when it is obviously not easy for her to come to me.
Hold her in your hands Lord, that she may feel your presence in these many difficult years.
Help me allow her to grow, and yet keep her always in my reach.
Keep her close Lord.
Guide her daily.

Tips for Success Freshman Year!
• 4 year planning with Counselors• Join a club!• Volunteer and internship (related to
career interests)• Keep track of hours, awards and
activities for resume and College Apps• Build relationships with peers, teachers
and staff• Participate: extracurriculars, school
events, have fun!
Tips for Success Sophomore Year!
• Continue with Freshman list AND• Fill out Career Inventory and
Strengths Explorer in Naviance• Start College visits with family and
attend local College fairs• Meet with your counselor and make
sure your four year plan is still on track
• Work on resume with activities you did Freshman year!
• Interview for Junior Ambassadors!
Tips for Success Junior Year!
• Continue with previous year’s extracurricular activities and add to resume
• Attend a College Planning workshop/Summer Camp– Resume building– Exploring College Values– Letter of Recommendations– Common App– Recruited Athlete information– Financial Planning– Essay writing
• Join Junior Ambassadors!• Optional Family college meetings• Take the PSAT and start planning SAT/ACT test taking
dates• Check in with Counselors and make sure you’re on the

We begin college planning Freshman year with our 4 year plan. We then use Naviance the next two years to explore REACH, TARGET and LIKELY schools. We also teach students how to use college search tools, how to develop a resume, and how to start formulating their college lists.Our focus:
• College admissions decisions are not a measure of your worth
• Find your best fit• Be open minded to different options
