Supporting Your Child in Writing

• Let him see you as a writer• Include her in your writing• Encourage “Best Guess” spelling

Word Work (Spelling)

• Differentiated spelling groups• Focus on patterns

Supporting Your Child with Spelling

• Designate a spot to store spelling words• Practice at least once/week• The night before the test, help her take and

check her practice test• Review his spelling test together

Math

• Multiplication and Division• Measurement and Graphing

• length, capacity, weight, mass, time

• Addition and Subtraction within 1,000• Complex Word Problems• Geometry: Perimeter, Area, Quadrilaterals• Concept of Fractions

Supporting Your Child in Math

• Help him find a good spot to do his math homework
