What does PBIS look like at Dooley?

• Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports or PBIS is a system focused on creating a school culture of building positive relationships between students and staff by encouraging positive behaviors, while also discouraging problem behaviors.

• At Dooley we have chosen to focus on three expectations:

- Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe!

• Look for posters in the classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and on busses that will describe what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe in these settings.

• Students displaying positive behaviors

throughout the school day have the

opportunity to receive stamps on their

PBIS card from any adult in the Dooley

community.

• Once a student’s PBIS card is filled they

have the option of using it to purchase

items at the PBIS store or save the card

to be used with other collected cards in

the future.

Working Lunch & Detention • Working Lunch – Students are provided an opportunity to complete homework

that was not completed the night before during Dooley’s working lunch. The purpose is to best support our students preparation and learning for the day. This is not punitive.

– Chronic absent work could result in a possible school meeting with student, student’s guardian, teachers, administration and/or a detention.

• Detentions – Students who engage in unacceptable behaviors that do not align with our PBIS Expectations of Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible may be assigned a lunch detention.
