Blessed Easter Day !

MUSIC FOR

MEDITATION

The Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away

Stood an old rugged cross

The emblem of suffering and shame

And I love that old cross

Where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain

And I'll cherish the old rugged cross

'Til my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the old rugged cross

And exchange it some day for a crown

Oh, that old rugged cross

So despised by the world

Has a wondrous attraction for me

For the dear Lamb of God

Left His glory above

To bear it to dark Calvary

And I'll cherish the old rugged cross

'Til my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the old rugged cross

And exchange it some day for a crown

In the old rugged cross

Stained with blood so divine

A wondrous beauty I see

For 'twas on that old cross

Jesus suffered and died

To pardon and sanctify me

And I'll cherish the old rugged cross

'Til my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the old rugged cross

And exchange it some day for a crown

To the old rugged cross

I will ever be true

Its shame and reproach gladly bear

Then He'll call me some day

To my home far away

Where His glory forever I'll share

And I'll cherish the old rugged cross

'Til my trophies at last I lay down

I will cling to the old rugged cross

And exchange it some day for a crown

I will cling to the old rugged cross

And exchange it some day for a crown *

The Face of Love

I've seen Your face on stained glass

In colored lights

In pictures of You looking to the sky

You've been portrayed

A thousand different ways

But my heart can see You

Better than my eyes

'Cause it's love that paints

The portrait of Your life

The face of love, the face of love

You look more like love every day

I've read Your words

In the pages of Your life

And I've imagined what You were like

I may not know the shape of Your face

But I can feel Your heart changing mine

And Your love still proves

That You're alive

The face of love, the face of love

You look more like love every day

The face of love, the face of love

You look more like love every day

And You are the face that changed

The whole world

No one too lost for You to love

No one too low for You to serve

So give us the grace

To change the world

No one too lost for me to love

No one too low for me to serve

Let us see . . . let us be Your face

Let us be Your face

The face of love, the face of love

You look more like love every day

The face of love, the face of love

You look more like love every day *

Ain't No Grave

Shame is a prison as cruel as a grave

Shame is a robber and

He's come to take my name

Love is my redeemer

Lifting me up from the ground

Love is the power where

My freedom song is found

There ain't no grave

Going to hold my body down

There ain't no grave

Going to hold my body down

Where I hear that trumpet sound

I'm going to rise up out of the ground

There ain't no grave

Going to hold my body down

Fear is a liar

With a smooth and velvet tongue

Fear is a tyrant

He's always telling me to run

Love is resurrection and

Love is a trumpet sound

Love is my weapon

I'm going to take my giants down

There ain't no grave

Going to hold my body down

There ain't no grave

Going to hold my body down

Where I hear that trumpet sound

I'm going to rise up out of the ground

There ain't no grave

Going to hold my body down

There was a battle

A war between death and life

There on a tree

The Lamb of God was crucified

He went on down to hell

He took back every key

He rose up as a lion

Now He's setting all the captives free

There ain't no grave

Could hold His body down

There ain't no grave

Could hold His body down

When He heard the trumpet sound

He rose up out of the ground

There ain't no grave

Could hold His body down

There ain't no grave

Could hold His body down *

You were forsaken

I'm accepted, You were condemned

I'm alive and well

Because You died and rose again

That You, my King

Should die for me?

Amazing love, I know it's true

It's my joy to honor You

In all I do, to honor You

This Is The Day

This is the day, this is the day

That the Lord hath made

That the Lord hath made

We will rejoice, we will rejoice

And be glad in it, and be glad in it

This is the day that

The Lord hath made

We will rejoice and be glad in it

This is the day, this is the day

That the Lord hath made

Jesus arose, Jesus arose

And He conquered sin

And He conquered sin

We will rejoice, we will rejoice

And be glad in it, and be glad in it

This is the day that

The Lord hath made

We will rejoice and be glad in it

This is the day, this is the day

That the Lord hath made

Christ is the King, Christ is the King

He is Lord of all, He is Lord of all

We will rejoice, we will rejoice

And be glad in it, and be glad in it

This is the day that

The Lord hath made

We will rejoice and be glad in it

This is the day, this is the day

That the Lord hath made *

Pastoral Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy

kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give

us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we

forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the

kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Scripture

Reading

John 20:1-18

Early on the first day of the week, while

it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went

to the tomb and saw that the stone

had been removed from the entrance.2 So she came running to Simon Peter

and the other disciple, the one Jesus

loved, and said, “They have taken the

Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t

know where they have put him!”

3 So Peter and the other disciple

started for the tomb. 4 Both were

running, but the other disciple outran

Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He

bent over and looked in at the strips of

linen lying there but did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came along behind

him and went straight into the tomb.

He saw the strips of linen lying there,

7 as well as the cloth that had been

wrapped around Jesus’ head. The

cloth was still lying in its place,

separate from the linen. 8 Finally the

other disciple, who had reached the

tomb first, also went inside. He saw

and believed. 9 (They still did not

understand from Scripture that

Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

10 Then the disciples went back to

where they were staying. 11 Now

Mary stood outside the tomb

crying. As she wept, she bent over

to look into the tomb 12 and saw

two angels in white, seated where

Jesus’ body had been, one at the

head and the other at the foot.

13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you

crying?” “They have taken my Lord

away,” she said, “and I don’t know where

they have put him.” 14 At this, she turned

around and saw Jesus standing there, but

she did not realize that it was Jesus. 15 He

asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?

Who is it you are looking for?”

Thinking he was the gardener, she

said, “Sir, if you have carried him

away, tell me where you have put

him, and I will get him.” 16 Jesus said

to her, “Mary.” She turned toward

him and cried out in Aramaic,

“Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).

17 Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for

I have not yet ascended to the Father.

Go instead to my brothers and tell

them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and

your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene went to the

disciples with the news: “I have seen

the Lord!” And she told them that he

had said these things to her. *

It's About the Cross

It's not just about the manger

Where the baby lay

It's not all about the angels

Who sang for Him that day

It's not just about the shepherds

Or the bright and shining star

It's not all about the Wise Men

Who traveled from afar

It's about the cross, it's about my sin

It's about how Jesus

Came to be born once

So that we could be born again

It's about the stone that was rolled away

So that you and I could

Have real life someday

It's about the cross, it's about the cross

It's not just about the good things

In this life I've done

Its not about the treasures

Or the trophies that I've won

Its not about the righteousness

That I find within

Its all about His precious blood

That saved me from my sin

It's about the cross, it's about my sin

It's about how Jesus

Came to be born once

So that we could be born again

It's about the stone that was rolled away

So that you and I could

Have real life someday

It's about the cross

The beginning of the story

Is wonderful and great

But it's the ending that can save you

And that's why we celebrate

It's about the cross, it's about my sin

It's about how Jesus

Came to be born once

So that we can be born again

It's about God's love nailed to a tree

It's about every drop of blood

That flowed from Him

When it should have been me

It's about the stone

That was rolled away

So that you and I could

Have real life someday

So that you and I could

Have real life someday

It's about the cross

It's about the cross *

Is There

Any Hope?

Offering Time

Jesus Take the Wheel

She was driving last Friday

On her way to Cincinnati

On a snow-white Christmas Eve

Going home to see her

Mama and her Daddy

With the baby in the backseat

Fifty miles to go

And she was running low

On faith and gasoline

It'd been a long, hard year

She had a lot on her mind

And she didn't pay attention

She was going way too fast

And before she knew it

She was spinning

On a thin, black sheet of glass

She saw both their lives

Flash before her eyes

She didn't even have time to cry

She was so scared

She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel

Take it from my hands

'Cause I can't do this on my own

I'm letting go so give me

One more chance

Save me from this road I'm on

Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder

When she made it to the shoulder

And the car came to a stop

She cried when she saw

That baby in the back seat

Sleeping like a rock

And for the first time in a long time

She bowed her head to pray

She said, I'm sorry for the way

I've been living my life

I know I've got to change

So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel

Take it from my hands

'Cause I can't do this on my own

I'm letting go

Just give me one more chance

Save me from this road I’m on

Oh, Jesus take the wheel

Oh, I'm letting go

So give me one more chance

Save me from this road I'm on

Just from this road I'm on

Jesus take the wheel

Oh, take it, take it from me *

Praise God,

From whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Amen.

God sent His Son,

They called him Jesus;

He came to love, heal and forgive.

He bled and died to buy my pardon;

An empty grave is there

To prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow;

Because He lives, all fear is gone.

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living

Just because He lives.

How sweet to hold our newborn baby,

And feel the pride and joy he gives;

But greater still, the calm assurance

This child can face uncertain days

Because Christ lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow;

Because He lives, all fear is gone.

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living

Just because He lives.

And then one day I’ll cross that river;

I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;

And then, as death

Gives way to victory

I’ll see the lights of glory,

And I’ll know He reigns.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow;

Because He lives, all fear is gone.

Because I know He holds the future,

And life is worth the living

Just because He lives. *

Drive My Car

Asked a girl where she wanted to be

She said “Heaven, can’t you see?”

I want to share Jesus

The star on the screen

And He can do something in between

Jesus, you can drive my car

Your Light shines as a star

Jesus, you can drive my car

And forever I’ll love you

Jesus told me that

My prospects were good

He said, “Listen, it’s understood

Working for freedom is all very fine

But I can show you a better time.”

Jesus, you can drive my car

Your Light shines as a star

Jesus, you can drive my car

And forever I’ll love you

Beep beep’m beep beep yeah!

Jesus, you can drive my car

Your Light shines as a star

Jesus, you can drive my car

And forever I’ll love you

I told my Jesus I can start right away

I said, “Listen, I’ve got something to say

I got no car and it’s breaking my heart

But I’ve found Jesus and that’s a start

Jesus, you can drive my car

Your Light shines as a star

Jesus, you can drive my car

And forever I’ll love you

Beep beep’m beep beep yeah!

Beep beep’m beep beep yeah!

Beep beep’m beep beep yeah!

Beep beep’m beep beep yeah! *

It is Finished!

Praise the Lord!

Stick around for more music if you like.
