19 Vocational Qualifications

A vocational qualification gives general eligibility for higher education in universities and universities of applied sciences.

It is possible to carry out the studies by following a specific study path to gain extra curricular competences (e.g. competition, international or entrepreneur path).

At least six months of the studies are carried out in working life (work based learning). The gained vocational competences are verified by skills demonstration.

Alternatives = new profession, in-service or advanced training, vocational, further vocational or specialist vocational qualification or tailor made development training for companies and organisations

Competence-based qualification = knowledge, skills and competence is demonstrated in real-life working situations and assessed by a tripartite assessment body

Regulating guidelines = working life development and service assignment TYKE and the qualification organising permits

Omnia Apprenticeship Office

Education is based on a temporary work contract between the student and the employer and on an individual study plan / document on individualisation.

80 % of work based learning (actual work tasks) which are supplemented with 20 % of theoretical studies in a vocational institution.

Possibility to carry out vocational, further vocational or specialist vocational qualifications.

Services

Vocational workshops for 17-24 year olds

Start up workshop for 15-16 year olds

Outreach youth work

The youngsters gravitating to workshops can be either unemployed or lacking a study place.

Time spend in workshops can be 1-12 months.

Annually approx. 200 trainees.

Outreach youth work offers individual support and guidance for youngsters without study place, school drop-outs or looking for information on studying.

Outreach youth work helps approx. 400 persons annually.
