Pastor’s Message February 24, 2019

We have all probably heard “God uses ordinary people in

extraordinary ways.” I have heard that again several times this

week. A dog trainer, Wally, shared with our men that when his

pastor challenged him to use his gifts to serve God’s kingdom,

he was at a loss... “Lord, all I got is these dogs!” And now this

man shares the gospel through presenting his dogs as they

keep their eyes on the master, showing their love and

obedience to their master. It is a powerful message.

I watched a man use his administrative gifts to lead a church

through a difficult chapter. Some of our people are

volunteering weekly for Heart for Schools at CLC to help

students to overcome a difficult chapter in their lives.

In Judges 4:17–24 and 5:24–31, we read the story of Jael the

wife of Heber. She used her skill (setting up tents) to deliver

Israel (by driving a tent peg precisely through the skull of

Sisera, the sleeping enemy).

This afternoon I want everyone to walk through our Ministry

and Missions Fair (3–5 pm in the Fellowship Center). Let’s

discover what ordinary skill God has given you to do

extraordinary things for God and His kingdom.

Love God! Love others! Serve!
