MeEt The TEacHEr
● I cannot wait to start my 3rd year of teaching at York!● I have lived in Littleton, CO the majority of my life and absolutely
love hiking, camping, and snowboarding!● I graduated from the University of Missouri with my bachelor’s
degree in Early Childhood Education and I currently attend CU Denver to receive a master’s degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education.
● I love baking, reading and spending time with my family!

● This is my third year teaching First Grade at York!● I graduated with both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in
Elementary Education from Baylor University. 🐻 I also have a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse endorsement!
● I am originally from Texas, but have loved living in the beautiful state of Colorado.
● I am proud to teach the wonderful students of York International!

Dear Parents and Guardians,Welcome to first grade! We are thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year. First grade is a fun and full year of transitional learning and developing important social skills. We believe that children learn best when the teacher, parents, and students work together to achieve the same goals. We advocate for open communication with families and students! Please join us this year as our partners in learning. Become involved by helping your child with homework, attending virtual school meetings and conferences, talking with your child about his or her school experiences, and participating in your child’s education daily. We have small classes this year, so we are excited to really get to know each child. We look forward to an exciting year and hope to see you soon!

DroP OfF anD piCk UP- neW pRotOCol!Drop Off:
● Cars: Parents must stay in cars while students walk to their class-zone to line up! We will hold signs on the first day.
● Walkers: Parents or siblings may walk up to the grass line of the sidewalk.
Pick Up:
● NO PARKING!● 1st Grade will be outside
after 3:15.
Kiss and Go Lane: Elementary drop off and pick up area.
Bus protocols are the same. Kids will be picked up by teacher.

Things to send with your child:
● Extra set of clothes *In case of accident. Bathroom breaks are
scheduled throughout the day to maintain social distancing.
● Charged iPad and Charger (Contact Technology if needing iPad: 303-853-1057)
● NO SCHOOL SUPPLIES! We have everything your student needs!
● A MASK: Students are required to wear a mask to school. We will
take frequent mask breaks outside!

LunChIf you are sending your child with a
packed lunch, please ensure he or she can open ALL items without assistance.

UniFOrMsMapleton is not requiring students to
wear uniforms this year. You may send your child in comfortable
clothing/athletic wear/etc. or a uniform if you so choose. (No spaghetti
straps or flip flops)

Estimados Padres y Guardianes, ¡Bienvenidos a primer grado! Estamos encantados de ser el maestro de su hijo este año. El primer grado es un año divertido y completo de aprendizaje de transición y desarrollo de habilidades sociales importantes. Creemos que los niños aprenden mejor cuando el maestro, los padres y los estudiantes trabajan juntos para lograr los mismos objetivos. ¡Abogamos por la comunicación abierta con las familias y los estudiantes! Por favor, únase a nosotros este año como nuestros socios en el aprendizaje.
