My First Grade Binder• Please clean out each night to ensure
constant school to home communication.• The papers on the “leave at home side”
should be taken out.• The papers on the “bring back to school
side” should be completed and/or signed and put back.
• The behavior calendar should be kept in the binder and signed or initialed nightly.
• First graders are responsible for unpacking their book bags and folder each morning. Teacher reminders are given.

Lunch Money• Please write your child’s full name and lunch pin number on a
sealed envelope. • You will receive reminders when your child’s lunch account is
getting low.• You may send lunch money to school each day or pay for
multiple lunches at one time (cash or check). Please know that it is easier for the children to manage if they are paying for multiple lunches at one time.
• We have a program for free and reduced lunches.

Snack
• Please send a snack in a small ziploc bag for your child each day.• All foods must be prepackaged. Homemade food items for a
class celebration or activity will not be permitted.• The nurse must approve all items. A list of recommendations
was sent home.

Book Orders
• Book orders will be sent home periodically throughout the year to offer you the opportunity to purchase books at reasonable prices.

Highlights Magazine
• Half-sheets of yellow paper will be sent home periodically to order Highlights Magazine.
• Please RETURN the yellow sheets even if you do not wish to order the magazine (our class gets free stuff for each yellow sheet returned)!

Helpful Hints• All belongings should be labeled with your
child’s name.• All toys should be kept at home! • As First Grade Teachers we have decided that no electronic devices will be
permitted.• Medical forms must be filled out by a doctor
if medicine is to be administered at school.• Excuse cards must be sent to school after
each absence. • Please work on tying shoes.• Flip flops and open toed shoes are not recommended. If your child chooses to wear them, they will only be able to walk at recess.• Ask your child about his/her day!
