Transition = Teenager

• The transition from childhood to adolescence is noted for significant developmental changes.

• The changes brought on by puberty are accompanied by increased autonomy and this independence brings with it an increased responsibility for managing ones own health.

• Management of personal health requires a level of health literacy.

• Goal: develop the knowledge and skillls to make decisions that promote optimum health.
