In our Anglican cycle of prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church of Tanzania.

In our local cycle of prayer we pray for Mustard Seed Community Health. Mustard Seed provides access to healthcare to people in Guildford County who are uninsured or underinsured.

The flowers on the high altar are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Emma Sharpe and Carl Jeffress by their daughters, Emmy Lou Jeffress Burchette and Laura Jeffress McKenzie and their families.

The greens on the church high altar during the week are given by Aurelia Stafford to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for the love and lives of family members.

We pray for the souls of Taylor Moore, father of Ashley Goble, father-in-law of William Goble, and grandfather of Molly and June, and James Yoder, father of Colin Yoder, father-in-law of Margaret Yoder, and grandfather of Catharine and Will, Ann Beckett Herring, daughter of the Rev. Ginny Herring, and Margaret Goodrum Iddings, mother of Myrna Carlocks.

Nurseries for children four and under are open each Sunday. Nursery assignments are: Infant & Toddler — Room 105 Preschool — Room 103

Downtown Greenway construction — The Sacred Garden Bookstore will be open during construction. Parking is available in the lot behind the church and on Simpson St. Please enter through the meditation garden in the rear.

Pastoral Care Ministry: The Pastoral Care Ministry oversees visiting members of our Church family who may be in one of our hospitals. Because of confidentiality laws, we no longer have access to information telling us who is in the hospital. If you or a member of your family are admitted to one of the hospitals, we would like to be notified so we can visit and pray with you. Contact the Rev. Sarah Carver at 336-272-6149 ext 220 or [email protected].

Be a Holy Trinity Foyer Convener — We’re looking for people to convene Foyer Groups. Conveners set a day and time when the Foyer Group will meet each month and host the first gathering. All Foyer members share in providing the meal. At the first meeting, the group organizes itself for upcoming meals. Beginning late August, people begin signing up for the day and time best for them. Foyer Groups meet through next spring. Contact Mark Lile-King at [email protected] or 336-272-6149 x272.

To volunteer, please contact Muriel Inabnet by phone or text at 336-404-8243 or by email at [email protected].

The Barnabas Network, an organization providing gently used home furnishing to families and individuals in transition from homelessness, has a continuing need for pots and pans, bath towels and pillows. Donations of such items and of other essential housewares can be brought to the church and left in the designated box in the downstairs foyer. Barnabas also takes furniture donations! If you have a furniture donation, call 336-370-4002 to schedule a pick up. If you are interested in volunteering, please call 336-370-4002.

Prayers in the Park Ministry — volunteers needed the following Sundays: September 3 and 24, and October 1, 22, and 29. Are you looking for an opportunity to help our hungry neighbors? Would you like to get a group of friends together to participate in a worthwhile ministry? We have the perfect way to do that — prepare simple bag lunches to be delivered in downtown Greensboro. To sign up or get more information, contact Terri Cartner at [email protected] or the Rev. Sarah Carver at [email protected], or speak with any of the other team members: Peter Carver, Martha Chaires, Joe Dzugan, Rose and Wes Hood, Ken Keeton, Philip Link, Lou and Buzz O’Brien, and Julia and Jay Robinson. Follow us on our new Facebook page Prayers in the Park. If you are interested in going with the team to the park, please email Ken Keeton at [email protected].

Food collection for the month of September is for Greensboro Urban Ministry. Please visit greensborourbanministry.org/services/food-bank/ for a list of food requested. • Please only bring food that is considered healthy, including low or reduced-sodium canned

foods, and low-sugar canned or packaged foods. • Please place items in the boxes located in the narthex, the receptionist lobby, and the elevator

lobby. Food should be unopened, not past its expiration date, and should not be in glass containers. We collected 170 lbs of food in July. Thank you!

Fresh produce collections — August 30 at 11 a.m. will be the last collection of fresh produce. Thanks to your help we have surpassed our 1000 pound goal, the most ever donated since the garden started in 2009! The donation location is outside the French doors behind the church’s back door receptionist desk. Please place your donation in the large blue plastic box. Contact C.P. Eldred at [email protected] if you have any questions.

The Need Box for August is designated for School Supplies.
