Welcome to Hooked on Leadership, a workshop with a distinct difference that gives immediate results in a dynamic and unique environment.Hooked on Leadership is a two-day corporate-to-country style leadership program, which helps leaders to create cohesive teams and navigate any challenge with certainty.

Hooked on Leadership helps you improve your leadership style through horsemanship. Focused on developing certainty, presence and service in your leadership style to help improve engagement and results in your team.

Hooked on Leadership is a unique take on leadership facilitation, combining not only classroom and equine-facilitated experiential learning but also an environment that allows leaders to have a different experience.

Created by Leadership Specialists, Rebecca Livesey and Angela Koning, Hooked on Leadership is a unique and memorable way to experience leadership training and team building.

In the stunning location of Brisbane’s Ocean View Estates, using classroom and equine facilitated experiential learning, you

will discover your default leadership behaviours and get immediate, unfiltered feedback from our facilitators to help you refine your

leadership style on the spot.

Rebecca Livesey and Angela Koning, created Hooked on Leadership to help leaders build cohesive teams and navigate any challenge with certainty, presence and service.Rebecca and Angela met in 2012 when they were working as leadership consultants in Queensland. After a few conversations, Rebecca and Angela connected over their passion for leadership

and saw an opportunity to creative a unique experience for leaders and their teams - no boardrooms, or stale team building exercises, but instead an experience that took leaders away from their comfort zones and put them in a unfamiliar environment. Together they combined their collective skills and put together a leadership program like no other.

Hooked on Leadership helps you improve your leadership style and teamwork through horsemanship. We focus on developing certainty, presence and service in your style to help improve engagement and results in your team.

Rebecca Livesey is a leadership consultant, accredited eDISC behavioural profiler and trainer, executive coach and keynote speaker. After working in numerous leadership roles in the UK and Australia in a range of industries, Rebecca co-created Hooked on Leadership with a purpose to create positive change in business and help leaders unleash their potential and improve their culture to achieve great results with their people. Rebecca believes the best leadership training happens outside the office and our comfort zones and she is passionate about demonstrating how you can have fun at work with your teams.

Through the two-day program, Rebecca educates leaders from a range of industries on their eDISC behaviour profile to help them understand their triggers to better lead their teams, in a fun, dynamic and unique way.

Rebecca’s facilitation style is insightful, encouraging and supportive, guiding each and every participant on their leadership journey in a unfamiliar environment. Every participant leaves with a new focus and understanding of how they can bring their whole selves to their people.

Angela leverages her two lifelong passions with a unique combination of leadership development and natural horsemanship. With the help of her horses, Fez and Red, Angela makes leadership an unforgettable experience, ensuring leaders make immediate and lifelong transformations in their leadership thinking.

Angela’s true purpose is self-leadership and the impact improved self-awareness and self-management can have on both our professional and personal lives. She is a DISC Advanced behavioural profiler and works with adults in corporate contexts and children in schools as well as business owners and professionals looking to improve their self-leadership to achieve better outcomes for themselves, their team and also in their life.

Through the two-day program, Angela guides participants through their self-leadership journey, teaching, assisting and supporting them on how they can provide certainty, presence and service to the people around them and what it feels like to have a steady, emotional state. Angela’s approach is supportive and encouraging while creating a unique and dynamic environment for the participants; an unforgettable experience that has the power to change your leadership style forever.

Big Red is a Standardbred gelding, standing at 16.2 hands high and chestnut in colour. He likes carrots, long walks on the beach and his favourite thing ever is a bath under the hose.

He brings all the personality you would expect of a redhead to his job - stubborn, flamboyant and he likes to be the boss. we are quite sure he knows he’s good looking, too!

Personality: Red needs a lot of energy to give him purposeful work.

Big Red was rehomed to us from the Standardbred Association of Queensland for his life after racing.

Red helps leaders just like you to bring a steady emotional state to your team.

Fezzy is also a Standardbred gelding, standing at 16 hands high and bay in colour. Fezzy is a quiet achiever with a heart of gold, and he loves kids, carrots and swimming at the beach.

Personality: Fez is the ultimate gentleman and simply wants to please and do his absolute best at whatever is asked of him.

Fez was re-homed to us from the Standardbred Association of Queensland for his life after racing.

THE PROGRAM

Hooked on Leadership is a unique take on leadership and team building facilitation, combining not only classroom and equine-facilitated experiential learning but also an environment that allows leaders and teams to have a different experience. Participants will discover their default leadership behaviours and get immediate, unfiltered, feedback from our facilitators to help refine their style on the spot. During the two day program, participants will experience delicious food and wine, including local cheese and wine from Brisbane’s Ocean View Estates, where the program takes place.

10-11:30: Horse Activity

Activity: Learn basic Horsemanship skills with Red and Fez

Learnings:• How we translate stimulus into response, and self management techniques • How unconscious communication has the biggest impact in leadership• How we apply the Hooked on Leadership Model - Certainty, Presence and Service

1:30-2:15: Session 2

Activity: DISC behaviour profiling

Learnings:• Understand DISC as a behaviour profiling tool• Understand and discover your profile and how this can (or currently) is impacting your team

2:15-4pm: Horse Activity

Activity: Liberty work - Pair/Team exercise with Red and Fez

Designed to:• Continue to up the uncertainty - learn how to manage your leadership state under pressure • Demonstrate how different profiles communicate and their preferred work and leadership

style, and adapt as needed• Introduce ‘Leadership Standards’ i.e how we consistently drive and maintain a high

performing culture

4-4.30pm: Day 1 Debrief Key Learnings from Day 1 and Commitments for Day 2

4:30-5:30Cheese and Wine Tasting - a great way to reflect and debrief on the day and connect/chat with participants. Or sit back and relax and enjoy the view!

11:30am MORNING TEA - great opportunity to recap and reflect on obstacle course with participants

11:45-1pm: Session 3

Activity: Delving deeper into DISC and what motivates us

Learnings:• Our personal core motivators and how they help and hinder and how this feeds the team

dynamic• How we make decisions and how this impacts our teams

1:30-4pm: Horse Activity

Activity: Team Exercise with Red and Fez

At Hooked on Leadership we do things a little differently, we take you outside of your traditional work environment, and your comfort zone and put you somewhere where we know you will excel as a leader and a team.

You will learn to understand the critical difference between just “doing’ leadership and “being” a great leader; how to be present with your teams and bring your whole self to your people.

We help you BE a clear leader in uncertain and challenging situations.

Hooked on Leadership is facilitated at Ocean View Estates Winery & Restaurant, perfectly situated in the rolling hills of Ocean View on the Mt Mee tourist drive.
