Khaki Bottoms
● Please purchase pull up or elastic waistband bottoms for those students who struggle with buttons and zippers.
● Skirts and dresses must be worn with shorts underneath.
● Leggings must be solid colored.
Closed-Toe ShoesEvery Day
Please consider purchasing velcro for those students who struggle with laces.
Emergencies
Please remember to send your student with a full
uniform (with undergarments) in a labeled ziploc bag.
Outerwear
Sweaters must be solid colored and plain. No hooded sweatshirts.
Transportation
Arrival• Parents enter through the South Gate on 7th st and Polk;
and exit through East Gate on Fillmore. This is a no-parking zone and vehicles mustn’t be left unattended.
• Kindergarten students may be dropped off at the K-1 playground gate no earlier than 7:45am. If tardy, gates and doors will be locked and they must go through the front office.
• Supervising staff will assist students needing to visit the cafeteria for breakfast service.
• For before-school care, register for the Sunshine Early Care Club (7:00-7:45am, $60 monthly)
Dismissal
• Kindergartners are to be picked up outside of the Media Center. Supervising staff will ewalk students to the vehicle. As previously noted, Vehicles must enter and exit as previously noted.This is a no-parking zone and drivers should remain in the vehicle.
• Older siblings can join your kindergartner for pick-up.
• All kindergarten bus riders will be escorted to the bus loading zone on 9th Street by Kindergarten staff.
• Students must be registered for an after school program if staying past 3:40 (K-5).
After School Options
After Care Programs
• Kinder YMCA• 3:30-6:00PM, $100.00 monthly
• High School Sibling Care• Supervision for those waiting for high school sibling• This program runs 3:30-4:10pm, no fees, registration
required. After 4:10pm, a $5 fee will be charged.
Snacks & Meals
MealsSnack Procedures
Each teacher will have a different snack calendar.Your student will be asked to provide a nutritious snack approx. once a month for 25-28 students.(Ideas: pretzels, crackers, gogurt, cheese sticks, fruit, baby carrots, bagged popcorn, nut-free trail mixes & multi-grain cereals, applesauce, granola bars, etc.)
Special note:Please NO nuts, candies, chips, soda, sugary juices or energy drinks, or fruit snacks/gummies.
Breakfast, Lunch, & Supper Service
Please visit the cafeteria booth at the Family Resource Fair.
Establish an online account and monitor it weekly. Please do not send students with cash.
Celebrations On Campus
Per ASU Prep policy, we do not celebrate birthdays during classroom time, as we work to respect and preserve our academic time.
Please avoid sending cupcakes.
