Formed in the early 1960's, the Kranlyft Group has built a first class reputation for delivering top quality equipment backed by fast response service throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Working closely with our customers means we offer the highest standards of support, both in machine selection and after-sales.

The group is the European master distributor for the ground breaking Maeda Mini Crawler Crane range and also supports Kato Mobile Crane users through an unrivalled parts and service network.

With its roots firmly planted in the crane industry, Kranlyft has represented Japanese crane manufacturers for almost half a century.

A wide ranging distributor network enables the group to sell and service literally thousands of cranes throughout Europe, Russia and the Middle East.

The Kranlyft Group

Maeda is one of the largest construction and equipment manufacturing companies in Japan. Looking to satisfy a demand that had been identified, they founded Maeda Seisakusho Co. Ltd. to manufacture a range of specialist construction equipment including mini crawler cranes in cooperation with Komatsu and Tadano. Other companies followed their lead and today the world market is dominated by two manufacturers, of which Maeda is by far the largest.

Benefits for the Maeda Customer:•Internal lifting is no longer a problem as Maeda cranes are available with electric or

LPG power

•Environmentally friendly, zero emissions with the electric motor

•Safe lifting is now possible in confined or restricted access areas

•Maeda Mini Crawler cranes are easy to position close to loads which could only

previously be handled by a much larger and more expensive crane

•Lifting from as much as 140 metres below machine level is possible

•Depending on local regulations, the operator might not need a crane licence

•The customer saves time and money if he can avoid having to construct specialised

lifting systems or hire expensive cranes

•Staff are not expected to lift excessive weights which might contravene manual

handling regulations

Benefits for the Rental Company:

•Ability to offer customers a complete solution instead of contracting out work to another

company to undertake the lifting

•Ability to get involved in projects at an earlier stage

•At competitive hire rates, pay-back time is very short

•As the crane is often used on internal applications the working-life of the crane is extended

•Because of the crane’s versatility, users often finish ahead of schedule thus reducing costs

•Once on site, new applications become apparent therefore generating more work

•Complicated jobs can be completed more easily and quickly

Easy to Transport:

•Maeda cranes are easy to transport to and around sites

•The MC104, MC174 and MC285-2 can be towed on a trailer behind a car

•Gradeability up to 23º makes loading and unloading easy

MC104 Mini Crawler CraneThe entry crane in our range, with a slim body only 600 mm wide, the MC104 fits through a standard doorway allowing access to areas previously inaccessible to standard cranes. The MC104 is powered by an electric motor which operates from any standard 3 phase electric source.

Highly manoeuverable with increased stability and low ground pressure, the MC104 comes with optional white rubber tracks and has a lifting bracket for easy lifting by secondary crane or helicopter.

Entirely new hydrostatic transmission, pentagonal-shaped, automatic 4-stage telescopic boom and hand-held remote control (optional radio remote available) complete the package.

Capacity: 995kg x 1.1m Max working radius: 5.1m x 200kgMax lifting height: 5.5m x 650kgDimensions: 2160 x 600 x 1305mmWeight: 1,150kg

MC174 Mini Crawler Crane

The MC174 is the smallest crane in our range and sets the standard for all other mini cranes, a super slim width of only 590 mm wide combined with its 1.72 ton lifting capacity make it absolutely unparalleled. A Programmable Moment Limiter ensures this crane is the safest in its class. A petrol unit, it is available with electric power pack or LPG options.

Highly manoeuverable with increased stability and low ground pressure, the MC174 comes with optional white rubber tracks and has a lifting bracket for easy lifting by secondary crane or helicopter.

Entirely new hydrostatic transmission, pentagonal-shaped, automatic 4-stage telescopic boom and hand-held remote control (optional radio remote available) coupled with unrivalled build quality and usability ensure this crane stands out from the competition.

MC285-2 Mini Crawler CraneThe most popular model in our range, the MC285-2 measures just 750mm wide when stowed yet boasts a massive 2.82 ton lifting capacity. Hand-held remote control comes as standard with the option of radio remote control if required.

Moment limiter with restricted area mode comes as standard along with hydrostatic transmission and stepless forward and reverse. An audible instability alarm operates when the crane is more than 3° from level or 15° degrees when travelling.

The new MC285-2 model features improved safety features, a 4/2 fall hook block as standard and is faster and easier to operate than ever before. The powerful winch with disc brake is suitable for continuous use.

Capacity: 2,820kg x 1.4m Max working radius: 8.205m x 150kgMax lifting height: 8.7m x 550kgDimensions: 3320 x 750 x 1470mmWeight: 2,120kg (diesel/electric)

MC305-2 Mini Crawler CraneThe MC305-2 is the first of the ’ride on’ mini cranes and comes with hi-lo variable speed and a moment limiter with restricted area mode. Centralised outrigger controls allow you to extend outriggers and level the crane and an automatic hook stowage system removes the need to anchor the hook during travel.

The machine can be easily broken down into five units (each weighing less than 1,000kg) and can then be quickly reassembled on site.A fully automatic high tensile steel 5-stage telescopic pentagonal box section boom minimises side deflection and hand-held cable remote controls come as standard with optional radio remote.

Maeda Case Study – Glass HandlingA Maeda MC285 at work in a Belgian football stadium replacing 6 panels of glass that had been damaged during the season.

It was a tricky job as the only way to get to the glass was through the stadium and up the stairs. No problem for the MC285 however – proving just how versatile these Mini Cranes can be.

Maeda Case Study – Uneven GroundThese machines are capable of working anywhere, the extendable outriggers can be adjusted to suit even the most uneven ground which means jobs can be completed quickly and without fuss in areas that bigger cranes simply can’t access.

Maeda Case Study – Restricted Access LiftingNarrow doorways, confined working spaces – these versatile machines can handle it all.

The Guggenheim Museum in Germany recently used two MC285’s to install a piece of artwork. The artwork was constructed in an enclosed room where tight space and limited access required a crane small enough to gain entrance yet capable of lifting up to 2 tons.

Maeda Case Study – Restoration ProjectsMaeda Mini Cranes really come into their own when it comes to specialist lifting during restoration projects and those requiring sensitive work.

The slim bodies of the machines ensure they can access narrow doorways and corridors while rubber tracks ensure there is no damage to historic flooring. The electric motor option means no pollution inside the buildings to worry about.

Maeda Case Study – ConstructionThe Maeda Crawler Crane range consists of the LC785B and LC1385B, machines that are capable of lifting a massive 4.9 and 6 tons respectively.

Coupled with an impressive Pick & Carry Duty of up to 2 tons, these cranes are able to complete jobs quickly and easily without the need for a much larger crane.

Maeda Case Study – Restricted AccessThe LC785B and LC1385B operate with no outriggers and near-zero tail swing, meaning these machines can get into sites that larger cranes can’t, yet still house enough power to complete a wide variety of jobs.

Maeda Case Study – Knuckleboom CraneDuring glazing projects, the hydraulic jib of the MK1033 comes into its own. In situations where the glass has to be pushed inside the building in order to straighten it completely, the knuckleboom has the advantage of being able to reach the height of the window and then extend the second boom completely horizontally so that the window 'slides' in. With a straight boom this would be impossible.
