Step 6 Extra reading --Beijing’s Bidding Film Wins International Awards
Beijing’s Olympics bidding film “New Beijing, Great Olympics” had won three top awards at an international festival. The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) made the announcement at a press conference today.
The short film, premiered in Moscow where the International Olympic Committee chose Beijing as the host city of the 2008 Olympic Games on July 13, 2001, was a hit at the “Sport Movie & TV – 21st International Festival” held in Milan, Italy.
This was the first time that BOCOG sent its promo films to such international festivals. The short film made history when it won the “Eberhard & Co” Award for the best production, the award of “Guirlande d’Honneur” (Garland of Honour) and the “Musee Olympique Award” that was specially set up by the Musee Olympique Lausanne.
