EXceptional POtential EXPO is the district’s program for those students who excel consistently or who show the potential to excel in general intellectual ability, specific subject matter aptitude, and creative and productive thinking.
If you are interested in testing for EXPO: We test once in the fall and once in the spring for EXPO. Please look on our webpage for upcoming dates.
EXPO students meet in a daily EXPO class. EXPO is also your READING class. Once you have been tested and placed in the EXPO program, you are an EXPO student FOREVER!
(You do not have to test again for middle school.)
IF you are an EXPO student and see Reading listed on your schedule when you pick it up, please call the school and request a schedule change to an EXPO class.
There is a list of school supplies that are needed specifically for EXPO on the
EXPO webpage. You can ignore any supplies listed for a Reading class.

The Navo Choir program has a tradition of excellence. Navo singers are exemplary
students, musicians, and people who learn together with diligence, artistry, and maturity.
The choir classes here at Navo combine high expectations with a safe and encouraging
learning environment in which to explore and experience great music.
Whether your child loves to sing or is ready to give it a try for the first time, the Navo Choir department has a place for them.
Sixth grade choirs are grade and gender specific, giving them plenty of individual attention as they build their skills and understanding. Both the 6th Grade Boys Choir and the 6th Grade Girls Choir sing music from throughout history and around the world.
Students get to share their music at various venues throughout the year, including concerts, luncheons, football games, neighborhood gatherings, and more, culminating with a spring competition at the Sandy Lake amusement park.

Being apart of orchestra and playing a stringed instrument is a way for students to express themselves in a positive environment, make lifelong friends, and be apart of a team that encourages and supports. We strive for excellence, accept challenges, and develop self-discipline. We would love for your student to be involved in our award winning orchestra program.

Library - LITERACY IS EVERYTHING! According to the U.S. Department of Education:
In Fourth Grade, U.S. Students read and write at levels among
the best in the world.
By 12th Grade only 35% of students are considered proficient in
reading.
The workplace demands competency in literacy skills:
72% of employers rate high school students deficient in basic
writing skills.
38% consider graduates deficient in reading comprehension.
Literacy is the #1 soft-skill companies look for when
hiring.
Soft-Skills are usually self-developed (as opposed to hard skills, which
you typically acquire in school or on the job).
According to Texas Labor Commission the top “soft-skill” in demand in
Texas job postings is Oral and Written Communication.
In 2016, LinkedIn conducted a yearlong survey with companies listing
the top 10 skills for employment and the #1 skill preferred was
Literacy/Communication.
“More than just clearly speaking the language, communication skills
involve active listening, excellent presentation, reading and writing
abilities.” - Jacob Share (job search expert)
