PROCESS
Process Flow Diagrams (PFD): Pictorial representation of the major pieces of equipment required with major lines of flow to & from each piece showing material balances and various process parameters etc.
Piping & Inst. Diagram (P&ID): P&ID’s Provide much detailed and mechanical information not shown on PFD’s like interconnecting Piping with size, material etc. along with the instruments.
Equipment list: The list provide details of all the equipments along with the physical dimensions and its respective various design parameters.

Instrument Index:Provides summary of all instruments required for the job, listing each number – identified item of each loop.
Specification Sheet:This contains information related to process and / or other instruments which is necessary for complete system engineering and also enables purchasing department for full filling their jobs efficiently.
I-O List:It specifies the number of analog input/output and digital input/output along with spares to select the number of I/O Modules for the whole system.
Wiring Drawings:Point to point wiring details such as cable
terminations at control panels or terminal / junction boxes are specified.
Control Panel Drawings:It specifies number of panels required for the whole system along with the slots defined for various electrical and instrument components.
DCS / PLC Configuration:It specifies the number of systems / consoles connected in the loop and also mentioning the level of redundancy at various stages.
Loop Diagram:Loop wiring diagrams are electrical schematic drawings which are prepared for individual or typical electronic loops.
Legend Sheets:This gives List of Symbols used in Piping and Instrumentation drawings.
Hook-up Drawings: The actual mountings of the instruments in the field are shown in these
