Dexter buys 2 sausage rolls, a chicken burger and a ham and

cheese panini.

a) Work out the total cost.

Dexter had £5 on his account to use for snacks.

Rosie has a weekly budget of £6.50 to use on hot snacks.

Every day she would like something different.

a) What snacks could she get with £6.50?

Matt, the chef, wants to create a new main meal for the lunch

time menu.

a) Choose your favourite meal and create a recipe for him to

use (you may use the internet for research).

b) How much of each ingredient would you need to make

the recipe for 40 people?

c) How much will it cost to make your meal?

Task Two

Here are the costs for each student to go to Fairthorne Manor.

b) If all of Year 7 (240 students) go on the school trip, work out the total cost of the school trip.

Mrs Haynes is planning a school trip to Fairthorne Manor.

She wants to design a three day timetable running from

08.00 to 16.00. There are over 25 activities to choose from

Each activity must last at least 40 minutes

Design a timetable for Mrs Haynes to use for her trip.

On the school trip there needs to be 1 adult for every 20

students.

a) How many adults are needed for 240 students?

b) A coach can take 70 people in total. How many coaches

are needed for the school trip?

Task Three

The table shows the results of a long jump competition:

a) Write these numbers in ascending order.

b) Dexter’s jumped a distance of 2.4m, would he win the competition?

The length of a running track is 400 metres. c) Rosie takes part in a 3000 metre race, how many time does she need to run around the track?

At Priestlands there are four houses.

As part of Priestlands Sports Day the four houses take part

in a tug of war tournament.

In the first round, each team must compete with each other

once. List all of the possible combinations.

Mrs Peacock, Head of PE, is organising the afterschool

sports clubs. She wants to know which sports the PE

department should run.

By carrying out a survey on your friends and family, decide

which sports Mrs Peacock should include.

Ms Jamieson wants to create a new coop for the chickens in the walled garden.

Each chicken needs to have an area of 2m2.

How many ways can you create a new chicken coop?

For each design, work out the perimeter.

If it costs £1.50 per metre to build the border, which of the your chicken coops will be the cheapest to build?

In 2018, there was 80 potatoes in the walled garden.

In 2019, there was 15% increase in the number of potatoes.
