SRE LibraryBook Fair October 1-9, 2012. Watch
for flyers on this exciting event.Students come to the library with their
classes on a regular basis to check out book and enjoy story time and lessons.
• Kindergarten students will check out one book at a time every Tuesday. Please keep the book in your child’s backpack when he/she is not reading it.
• Students who have overdue books must return those books before checking out any other books.

The Music Classroom
• Students will be given the opportunity to sing and play instruments alone and in a group.
• Students will learn basic music theory and will be able to read and notate music.
• Students will learn about the history behind music and learn about music from around the world.
• Students will be given performance opportunities throughout the school year.

The primary goal for P.E. is the physical and social development for all students.
The major content areas this year will include: motor and manipulative skills, rhythms, health and safety, physical fitness and skill development and games related to both individual and team sports.

Safety First, Fashion Second!
Wear athletic type shoes to P.E.!Flip –flops, platform shoes, heels, Croc type shoes or slip-on style shoes are not safe for your children during PE and recess time.
Help your child learn to tie shoes. It’s safer!
Wear shorts underneath dresses and skirts.

Family CommunicationFamily Communication Please check and initial your child’s blue folder
EVERY DAY.
Remember: • If your child is on white it will be blank indicating your
child followed expectations. • Blue or green means your child exceeded expectations. • Yellow means they needed to be redirected more than
once. • Red indicates your child had a difficult day. • Please give feedback to your child on his/her behavior as
your feedback is crucial to your child’s success.

• Reading logs and homework will begin next week. It will comprise of 15-20 minutes of reading along with a nightly assignment that will be found in a packet.
