Light of Christ Academy, in partnership with St Ann Parish welcomes all parents and students to visit our school to see what makes us unique.

No child will be denied the opportunity for this wonderful Catholic education due to financial need.

Happy Easter! God has surely given us the opportunity to live the virtue of OBEDIENCE during this time of restriction and quarantine. Holy Week and in particu-lar, Good Friday focus our attention on the power of perfect obedience – Jesus Christ, Our Savior was obe-dient to the Father’s Will even unto death. Three times He begged the Father to let the cup of suffering pass Him by, but in the end, He was obedient and said, “Not My will but Yours be done”.

Jesus' acceptance of the Father’s Will in the Garden before His Passion and Death show us perfect and heroic obedience. It is through Jesus’ obedience that the whole world is redeemed. May we work to grow in imitation of that example.

Obedience is the virtue through which we say “Yes” to the Holy Will of God and those He has set over us – Trusting in God’s plan for our lives over our own de-sires.

To be perfect obedience, it must be prompt, exact and joyful. This means we accept and carry out the order right away, precisely the way we were asked to do it, and we do it with a smile in our heart if not on our face. The joy comes from the knowledge that our obe-dience is an opportunity to offer it as an act of love for God.

We practice the virtue of obedience well when we: • Obey the Ten Commandments and the Precepts

of the Church – • Work to know, love and serve God with our

whole heart and being. • Put God first. (Make time for prayer, Adoration,

Scripture and worship.) • Frequent the sacraments. Mass, Eucharist, • Show great respect for God, His name, His

Church (Pope, bishops, priests) and the Faith. • Take our responsibilities seriously. • Tell the truth and Keep our promises.

May the practice of this powerful virtue bless your family.

In Christ, Carrie Jewett Dean of Formation

A MESSAGE FROM DEACON MIKE

I hope you had a blessed Easter with your family and that you are all in good health.

I am pleased to announce that Father James Richardson has been appoint-ed Pastor of the Collaborative of St. Ann Parish; St. Ambrose Parish; and Our Lady of Great Oak Parish. Most recently Father has been the pastor at St. Mary Parish in Kalamazoo. He will begin Monday (April 20th). We are blessed to have him here and look forward to welcoming him and celebrating Mass as a parish family.

For the foreseeable future we will offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm each Tuesday and Thursday evening as well as from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm each Saturday afternoon until we are allowed to resume our regular schedule.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Adoration each day from noon until 9:00 pm. We ask that you continue to adhere to the sanitary guidelines posted on the doors of the church and limit the number of people in the church to ten. Also, please practice social distancing.

Our Saint Vincent de Paul office is still assisting families in need. We thank them for all of their support of our community. If you know of some-one who needs food, please call them at 269•389•0370. They are open Monday-Friday, by appointment only, for curbside pick-up.

We will attempt to keep you up-to-date with any changes in schedules. If you have not been receiving parish emails, you can fill out an information update form by going to the St. Ann website (the link is on the homep-age). You can also find updates on the MyParish App, Facebook and the St. Ann website.

We now have the ability to accept donations using debit and credit cards online. Please remember that even though there is no Mass, the day to day operations of the church continue. This includes things like maintaining the facility, paying the utilities and covering the general daily expenses. Pease consider mailing your tithe to the church or submitting your tithe online (information on the following page).

As always, please call me if you need assistance or if you have a Sacra-mental Emergency at 269•207•7365.

Yours in Christ, Deacon Mike Carl
