Eleventh Sunday In Ordinary Time • June 17, 2018

B lessing Of Fathers God and Father of all creation, we come before you today with humble hearts. You are our model of a loving father. When we fail and fall short of your expectations, you are always there at the end of the day with open arms, ready to heal the cuts and scrapes of the day and to encourage us to try again and not to give up. We hold up these men in our midst who act in the world as fathers to their children or models of fathers for others. Bless them in their moments of doubt and frustration with their children. Give them warm and open hearts to forgive failures. Provide them with the words needed for encouragement and perseverance. We ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Looking For A Few New

Wine Stewards If you would like to get a little more involved in the Mass at St. Al’s, we are in need of additional wine stewards at the weekend Masses. It is not a difficult job, as you can see at each Mass. Train-ing is available. Contact Tom Chvala at 421-2552 or the Parish Office at 421-2442. Thank you for your consideration.

Spaghetti Dinner Greendale Fire and Police Departments is spon-soring a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, August 5, from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. The dinner is catered by That's Amore. Adult dinners are $9.00, and chil-dren's dinners are $6.00. The dinner price at the door will be $11.00. Dinner will include meatballs, spaghetti, and salad. The dinner will be served by our Police and Fire Departments. Tickets can be purchased after all Masses and at the Police and Fire Stations. The dinners will be served inside Spangler Hall.

Bake Sale Please consider baking for August 4 and 5 for our Feast on the Blacktop celebration. Items will be on sale after all Masses the weekend of the event. Please plan to bring your food items to church by 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, and be-fore all Masses on Sunday. For more infor-mation, call Barb at 425-5514 or Judy at 423-5974.

From the Desk of the Temporary Parochial Administrator On behalf of everyone, I take this moment to welcome our new Coun-cil Chairs: Denna Flemming as Chair, Rosie Edwards as Vice-Chair, and Matt Evrard as Secretary. I wish them all the best. May this new team help our parish in all possible ways with new ideas and actions. I thank those who have completed their terms: Chris Sowa as Chair, Barbara Toll as Vice-Chair, and Chris Arnold as Secretary. Thanks for your great ideas, valuable time and the impact you made through your service last year. It may be a transition period for many of us, whether it is a school, parish, com-pany or our life. Please take a few minutes to pray for them.

To all the families–indeed all of us–who will be planning to travel this summer. Please be safe in all your places. Please take extra care of the elderly people and children–both need extra care.

“Go and make a difference“ was the reflection at the last school Mass. With little good words and action, we all make a difference in our community. I believe that all our kids during this summer make a little difference, especially at our homes. Have a good summer!

Fr. Britto Suresh

Feast On The Blacktop Feast on the Blacktop is coming on Saturday, August 4, and Sunday, August 5. Saturday's bands are Branded and 7 Juliet; Sunday's music is Lumen Christi Ministry, Vern Tretow and Our House. There will be a bake sale after all Masses and a Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, sponsored by the Greendale Fire and Police Departments. We will be selling tickets for the dinner after all Masses, and the Police and Fire Departments will also sell tickets. The dinner is catered by That’s Amore. The camel is back—plan to take a ride. We have a wine truck with wine from a local vineyard and lots of beer, food and fun for all. There will be a video game tent, plus lots of games for all ages. We will be signing up sponsors and workers after all Masses each weekend. Please plan to help. For more information, call Chris at 529-3758, Barb at 425-5514, or Judy at 423-5974.
