MALIE ZAUBER ABSTRACT

Microalgae, a sustainable source of powerful actives

Microalgae are at the origin of the vegetable world 3.5 billion years ago. They are the first element of the lifecycle. These photosynthetic microorganisms are considered as one of the lungs of the earth releasing half of the O2 that we breath in the atmosphere. Microalgae stimulate a spirit of exploration, promoting the most and fascinating relationship with nature. They are a source of substances of interest to the cosmetic industry, including polysaccharides, lipids such EPA, DHA, pigments, proteins, vitamins and antioxidants.

Thanks to a modern patented technology developed by Natura‐Tec’s biotechnology centre, where they are able to obtain specific species in sufficiently large quantities to satisfy the formulator’s needs by controlling the farming environment and ensuring true sustainability and safety. 100% sustainable, energetically independent thanks to the transformation of waste into energy carried out by an onsite power station, Natura Tec’s microalgae technology is resulting in a minimal carbon footprint and is the main platform to sustain interest in the use of innovative actives based on microalgae.

BREE WEBSTER ABSTRACT

When natural and sustainable beauty activism leads to excellence for consumers

By Alban Muller. Presented by Bree Webster, IXOM (distributor of Alban Muller).

Natural Cosmetic market has a significant stake in the global Cosmetic market and is still growing considering the demand of consumers for safer, natural certified and environment friendly products.

Mastery the entire production line is a guarantee of quality. Eco-sustainability demands a complete control of the supply chain from the seed to the field, of the manufacturing process from the plants to the phytocosmetic extracts concentrated in active molecules, and up to the production of skin care. Indeed, the manufacturing of high-integrity extracts needs to follow stringent critical steps to ensure eco-responsible and performant process to preserve the actives molecules as well as being environment friendly. Knowing the chemical composition of plant extracts is a major asset which enables to select those with the best synergy of action. Moreover, the incorporation of high-integrity extracts in natural and biocompatible base made of alternatives to synthetic formulation ingredients creates safe, sensory and efficient natural cosmetics.

Finally, this holistic approach followed by Alban Muller company ensures natural products providing quality, sustainable and cost-effective ingredients for green, clean and efficient cosmetics.
