Welcome to the 2020 Preseason!

It's time to pull out the boots, reconnect with your teammates and get ready for Season 2020. It’s going to be huge! Firstly, a massive and gracious thank you to all my fellow Committee Members, the Coaching and Management teams for 2020, and all the other volunteers who have worked tirelessly in the off-season to get us so well prepared for this year. A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes at so many levels which often goes unrecognised. You will shortly see all the benefits from the hard work these folks have put in with some great surprises and events.

Team App Our Team App has been updated for 2020 season with all age

groups rolled up 1 year. • For example, if you were in the U8 Age Group last year you and

all the players in that age group have now been rolled up to U9 Age Group with the addition of "born 2011" to its name.

• Minis teams U5-U9 - Gold, Green, Blue, Black have all had a roll-over of names e.g. U6 Gold is now U7 Gold. Members of these teams can all be amended easily by the team manager or AGC.

• Juniors teams U10-U16 - Stags, Highlanders (& Tartans) - have all had a roll-over of names e.g. U13 Stags is now U14 Stags. Members of these teams can all be amended easily by the team manager or AGC once teams are selected following grading.

• For U10 in 2020 - all U9 contacts have been added to the top level "U10 Age Group born 2010". Once grading selections are finalised players will be allocated to teams - Stags, Highlanders & Tartans (If we get the 3 teams for U10s we are targeting)

• There is some enhanced functionality with it as well, including an improvement to the use of Player Name for team lists and RSVPs with the parent becoming the Primary or Secondary Guardian.

• New players & families to the club will soon be invited to download Team App and receive all communications.

Gordon Junior Rugby Rep Trials Registration is open to trial for GJRU representative rugby and has moved on-line. All details for the U12-U16 program can be found here: http://www.gordonjuniorrugby.com.au/2020/02/21/2020-rep-registration-is-open/ NB. U10 & U11 trials will occur in Term 2. All players at Chatswood are encouraged to trial as players develop at different speeds and kids who missed out in earlier years often make older squads. Want to be a selector for GJRU reps? GJRU are taking selector nominations for U12-U16 rep trials. You must be available for 1 or more of the below age groups on 15 March 2020:

Asian Community Engagement (ACE) This is a new initiative for 2020 and we are working with RA and NSWRU to welcome new families to Chatswood and new players to rugby. We will be welcoming players to Try Rugby on 23 Feb and hoping to establish a Get into Rugby program in Term 1. Please

spread the word across your schools and neighbourhoods. Our thanks to our Welcoming Officers, Jess, Clarissa and Mariza who will offer assistance in Mandarin, Japanese and Australian!

Tour News One of the great things about rugby at Chatswood is the opportunity to be part of a tour either locally or overseas or even as hosts to an inbound team from the global rugby family. Our U13s are busy preparing for their 2020 tour. Please support them at the Canteen as they raise money to get the team on the plane to NZ. We have an invite for U8-U10 teams to play in a gala day at the Maitland Rugby Carnival on 14 March.
