Say ‘I do’ with us There are so many great reasons to get married at Swynford Manor. Here are a few of our unique features…
Our storySwynford Manor is an
18th-century country house
with an interesting past. Once
upon a time, Lord Byron’s
sister lived here, and the
famous wordsmith was known
to pen his romantic poetry
under one of the trees in the
gorgeous grounds. And, King
Charles II held his 12-mile
horse race on the lane outside
– great green paddocks still
surround the venue today.
Our locationOur stylish home away
from home is nestled in the
picturesque Cambridgeshire
countryside, and the views
are truly breathtaking. We
are also right on the borders
with Essex and with Suffolk
and only minutes’ drive
down the A11 and M11 into
Hertfordshire too. For your
guests who may be arriving
from further afield, we are
just 20 minutes from the main
railway station in beautiful
Cambridge.
Striking décorSwynford Manor is steeped
in history, yet is elegantly
modern too. From the chic
ceremony rooms to the
grand Garden Room, it is
decorated impeccably and has
a glamorous monochrome
palette with plush finishing
touches.
The glorious groundsThere are plenty of open
spaces to make the most of
here. Enjoy your drinks on the
elevated patio, play games on
the lush lawns and capture
all those picture-perfect
moments around the gardens.
Our boutique-style guest roomsYour loved ones can look
forward to huge copper baths,
ornate chandeliers, decorative
fireplaces and unbeatable
views of the grounds as
standard. The lavish Bridal
Suite is even better…

Rose & Dave
The perfect venueWith an early-March wedding
date in mind, Rose and
Dave spent a day looking at
possible venues and fell in
love with Swynford Manor
straight away.
“From the moment we arrived,
I knew it was everything I
have ever wanted and more.
We loved the light, relaxed
feel of the Garden Room and
all the finer details including
the gorgeous baths in each
bedroom.”
The happy couple decided on
a vintage style monochrome
theme – the perfect choice for
Swynford Manor.
Deep red rose petals were
used to line the ceremony
aisle and featured in the
table centrepieces alongside
elegant candles. Adding a
little glamour to the look,
mirrors were used for a
welcome sign and table plan.
Following their wonderful
ceremony in The Study, drinks
and canapés were served,
with candy floss toppers on
each glass!
A barbecue style dinner was
a great choice for this relaxed
occasion, with burgers proving
to be very popular. And, as an
alternative to the traditional
cake, the newlyweds served
donuts in personalised
‘midnight snack’ bags.
As day turned to evening,
pizza and fish goujon
ciabattas delighted the guests
and the dance floor filled.
Rose’s Favourite Moment
“ I’ll never forget walking down the aisle with my dad, holding Archie’s (Dave’s son) hand and seeing Dave’s face.”

REAL LIFE SWYNFORD MANOR WEDDING
Kerry & JamesImages by This Is Photography tipphoto.co.uk
Kerry and James had a church wedding followed by their reception at Swynford Manor. Choosing a classic colour scheme and simple decorations, this April celebration was a true delight.
An Elegant Springtime CelebrationPlanning an early-April
wedding, Kerry and James
were looking for a beautiful
exclusive wedding venue. With
their hearts set on a church
ceremony, they needed to
find the perfect place for
the celebrations, ideally
where guests could also stay
overnight. .
Design and DécorFor their spring wedding, the
happy couple chose a colour
scheme of ivory and silver
with just a hint of mint green.
Table centres were vases
of different heights filled
with Calla lilies and floating
candles and surrounded by
rose petals and crystals.
“I wanted it to be modern and
classic. We chose mint green
for the bridesmaids but I
didn’t want to have the colour
in the venue too much so kept
most things ivory and silver.”
– Kerry
Following their romantic
ceremony at Holy Trinity
Church in Bottisham,
welcome drinks and canapés
greeted guests to Swynford
Manor, alongside a fun
‘Pimp Your Prosecco’ table.
A close-up magician and
guitarist certainly added to
the celebratory ambience.
When it came to the wedding
breakfast, prawn and crab
was served to start with a
chicken main course and,
for pudding, lemon tart. “We
chose what we like and what
we hoped most people would
enjoy.
