Welcome to the Launching of the

Acquisition Center of Excellence (ACE) for Services

“the POWER of  Knowledge Sharing”

Provide a golden source for services information and resources to the acquisition community to promote transformation and excellence

in making smart business decisions.

 

Purpose

To assist the acquisition community in acquiring services by

1. identifying public and private sector service contracting best practices; and

2. serving as a clearinghouse for public and private sector best practices for service contracting.

Authority

Sec 1431(b) of the Service Acquisition Reform Act requires the OFPP Administrator to establish a center of excellence in contracting for services.

Mission/outcome

• Provide a golden source for services information and resources to the acquisition community to promote transformation and excellence in making smart business decisions.

Vision

To establish an online resource center for service contractingbest practices that will evolve in to a knowledge managementrepository for best practices. The center will

• include areas for best practices, e-tools, policy and guidance, as well as education and training opportunities.

• expand to include the ability to provide virtual experts, available to assist the acquisition community in planning, soliciting, evaluating, awarding, and managing service contracts.

• complement and enhance the Services Course under development by the DAU and FAI partnership-led interagency development team.

Benefit/Value of the Site

Provides a one stop resource information center for new/more junior employees and senior/more experienced practitioners;

Facilitates the building of service contracting knowledge;

Facilitates the rapid identification of individuals with specific knowledge or skills;

Fosters knowledge sharing across organizational boundaries (“boundary spanning”); and

Promotes and facilitates the capture and re-use of existing knowledge assets within the acquisition community.
