Learning from TABC

BP permits can be beer or liquor permits.B permits are liquor permits.The surcharge fees changed as did the monthly file layout.In very rare cases, it is possible to have the same permit number on two different locations and owners. This happens with permits that have existed since the early 1980’s.Cities can collect the same fees that the Counties collect.

Learning from TABC

How TABC intended the four liquor permits (MB, LB, CB, RM) to be paid on a 2 year schedule. The ACT Permits system has been programmed to follow this schedule.

The Account Search screen has been modified to display the type of permit. On the far right of the screen it shows ‘B’ for beer or ‘L’ for liquor.

Screen Changes Since We Last Met

The Account Status screen has been modified to allow the following:

Adding Renewal and/or Late fees when the Add Permit Fees button is used.Updating Renewal and/or Late fees on the screen.Deleting a permit provided there are no payments on the permit being deleted. Deleting of permits is governed by the entitlement: DELETE_PERMITS

The Renew/Reissue screen has been modified to allow the following:

The selection list has been updated to handle the decreasing fee permit types.The RM and MB permits have the same fees and decreasing schedule.

Waiting in the Wings

Collecting City Permit fees is coming to the ACT Permits system. The following enhancements not related to city fees have been requested:

Would like to be able to select statements for printing by billing status.Would like to be able to identify returned mail.Would like to be able to track the phases of the statements sent. This would enable quicker reporting to TABC for unpaid permits.

Waiting in the Wings—City Collections

There are a few things to do before you can start collecting.

Your tax office will need provide a list of the cities you will be collecting for to ACT.

ACT will set up the system to allow processing for the cities on the list.

You will be provided with training materials. Webinar training can also be provided.

The following reports and processes have been changed in preparation to collect City fees:

TABC Receipts Totals Statements Deposit Proof List A new City Receipt has been

created. A new batch menu item has been

created to disburse City funds. A new TaxLedge type of PERL has

been created for loading the disbursement files.
