Alumni Speak

The faculty members were quite supportive and co-operative to

achieve our academic goals. As far Civil Engineering department is concerned, the faculty and other

staff members always encouraged us to become a better engineer to

serve the society.

Er. Rahul TelangSenior Technical Leader,

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development

I joined MIT Pune after completing a Bachelor Degree in Civil

Engineering. The two years at MIT Pune were amazing. They were a

great mix of postgraduate learning, research and extra-

curricular activities. The faculties were always encouraging for

research activities and publishing research papers.

The best thing about MIT, I experienced was encouragement to

participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. These activities

create a great bond among the students across all the branches and make them more creative. Also, the

teachers played a vital role in helping students to seek a right balance

between studies and other activities.

A beautiful campus with world class infrastructure, laboratories equipped

with the latest technology are just few of the things that has made my

experience at MIT truly inspirational. I found PG in Civil Engineering very

interesting. Post Graduation at MIT is a great platform for learning and implementing with the help of

practical classes and frequent site visits and overall it was a very nice

experience to be part of.MIT taught me the things I needed to know in the field, not only academics,

but also teamwork and communication skills.

Alumni Speak

I am Akash Arun Khente and I have been a student of the M.Tech Structural Engineering program at MIT-WPU. I am currently working at SOWiL Limited, Mumbai as a 'Bridge Design

Engineer'. SOWiL is a consultancy firm that deals with Highway Development works, Railway works, Bridges, Tunnelling and other Infrastructures providing services including preliminary

planning and design, feasibility studies, economic and environmental assessment, detailed design and preparation of DPR (Detailed Project Reports) among others. I was fortunate to bag a

job at SOWiL with the best in industry designation and salary package.

MIT-WPU has been a great contributor to the development of my personality. The two-year stint at the MTech program provided several opportunities to develop leadership, team building,

innovation, a positive approach and leading life with a strong mindset. This helped me to gain confidence and enough expertise to prove and apply myself in any professional environment.

Attending state-of-the-art conferences and delivering technical presentations at MIT-WPU helped in building and enhancing academic, technical, presentation and soft skills.

The MTech program involved frequent lectures from prominent personalities and industrial leaders. The student chapters of ISSE (Indian Society of Structural Engineers), IIBE (Indian

Institute of Bridge Engineers) and numerous workshops conducted at MIT-WPU gave an exposure to the industry and provided opportunities for networking and building connections.

Coupled with exceptional faculty and innovative learning methods, I was able to pace myself with what was expected of me after graduating. Furthermore, the experience gained during

the internship provided me with a gateway to enter the professional industry equipped with desirable skills, knowledge and abilities.

The academics at MIT-WPU involved numerous courses across various domains which gave more prominence to innovation and research work. The university nurtures the physical and

mental well-being of students by putting special emphasis on Peace, Spirituality, Philosophy as well as Yoga and including them in the curriculum which makes it stand out amongst the

top universities. It has been a delightful experience to have been a part of MIT-WPU which is truly universal in every aspect and by all means.

Having won accolades nationally, evident from our NIRF and TIMES Rankings, weare striving hard to be recognized at the international level as well. In this endeavor,‘Industry-Readiness at The Global Level” and “Research & Innovation” are our keyfocus areas.

There is a huge demand for an industry-ready manpower that is conversant with thelatest technologies adopted by the industry. Therefore, it is necessary, asacademicians, that we contribute to the growth of our nation by groomingprofessionals, who are conversant with the current advances and practices in theindustry.

Building a strong industry-academia connect is a priority for me. My team of facultymembers is continuously revising the engineering curriculum in consultation withthe top industry experts. Keeping the latest technological advancements in mind,we are introducing the following important courses in our B. Tech curriculum for thebenefit of all students enrolled in engineering, irrespective of their chosen branch inengineering: Python Programing, Basic IoT Laboratory, Data Science for Engineers,Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Probability and Statistics.

To add to this significant change in our curriculum, the Faculty of Engineering andTechnology has done another path-breaking change in the structure of itsengineering education with the introduction of a Minor in Computer Science for allengineering students, with the exception of those already pursuing ComputerScience or Computer Engineering. This change has been made in view of the surgein demand for professionals with a background in Computer Engineering along withdomain knowledge of other subjects in fields like Civil, Chemical, Mechanical,Polymer, etc.
