Welcome to The Depot

The Depot is a unique multi purpose venue made up of artist workshops and photographic studios. The space offers forward thinking individuals an inspired environment to create or showcase work, host live events and immersive experiences that bring like-minded people together. The Depot is an impressive and versatile space. The building, a renovated horse stables that is part of Clapton’s 200-year-old Tram Depot, has history and character in abundance. In the past the studios have hosted everything from pop-up restaurants, book launches, exhibitions, cinema screenings, parties, functions, photo and film shoots. We are fully supportive of projects that actively encourage experimentation and express creative freedom.

Photo Studio

The space is ideal for portraiture, test shoots and still life shoots. With a range of backing papers and studio flats we can accommodate a range of set ups in the space. We also have a set of flash heads (three Bowens Gemini 500R with umbrellas and softbox) that are available for hire. Our studio has painted brick walls suitable for a semi-industrial look. The studio is also available to hire for video shoots and has been used as a location for a number of music videos. Studio hire for the day starts from £450, discounts available for multiple bookings.

Screenings

The Depot is the perfect space to host an intimate screening event. Our characterful room with gabled roof gives an atmospheric feel to any screening. We have room to comfortably seat between 50 to 60 guests, with space for Q&As and panel discussions. HD projector and screen, sound system and a PA system are available to hire. Bespoke packages available on request.

Our event space is a versatile blank canvas and perfect venue to showcase new and experimental work. Its stripped back, industrial interior allows clients to create their own immersive environments. We welcome each and every transformation at The Depot and pride ourselves on how uniquely inviting the space is. The ethos of The Depot is to encourage people to relax and have a good time. We have hosted a range of exhibitions from solo installations to group shows. We offer a flexible and versatile space to display a wide range of works. The space can also be used as a workshop to create work or mock-up installations for clients. We can offer you a range of options for your needs.

Events and Private Parties

The Depot has hosted a number of evening events from launch nights to live gigs through to pop ups and corporate parties. Guests have access to the outside yard and an external bar and kitchen space is also available to hire.
