Setting up an account
Go to turnitin.com and click on “New User” near the log in
Scroll down to “New Students Start Here” to “create a new user profile”
Create a new account as “student”
How to create an account
Enter the class ID your instructor provides Enter the password instructor provided Enter your REAL name and a working
email. ONE email per account. Use a password that will be easy for you
to remember (I can only retrieve your email)
There is a slide for each class period.
GO TO THE CORRECT class period for
YOU so you enroll in the right class

CaSe Sensitive!)
Period 3 Class ID/password
Class ID: 4481026

Period 6 Class ID/password
Class ID: 4481029

Submit an assignment
Once you enroll, you can see what classes you’ve enrolled in.
Click on your class period for this class You will see a list of assignments
Submitting an assignment
Click on “submit” with the up arrow next to the assignment you want to submit for
Uploading is preferred over copy and paste
Make sure your assignment is double spaced.
Click on “browse” to find your assignment in your files
Upload
After adding your assignment, click on “upload”
Wait. Preview your assignment. It may not look
double spaced, but that’s ok. It will be. Just be sure that it is the correct assignment.
Final Submit
If it is correct, be sure to hit SUBMIT on the bottom of the preview page.
Your assignment is not posted until you see the green check mark that says “success!” and you see a copy of your Turnitin Digital Receipt
You will also receive an email of your receipt. Save this! It’s your only record of your submission.
Check your originality report
After you submit your assignment, view your portfolio. This is where you can see your assignment double spaced, once it is finished loading.
Refresh your page a few times You will see a percentage on the right in a
color box
