Welcome to Viña LeydaJourney to an Incredible Wine Experience

Leyda: The WayOnce located on a historic passage from the city of Santiago to Chile’s beautiful beaches, this iconic blue building was the last train station before travelers reached the Pacific.

Over time, it became both a landmark and a saying, meaning “the way” to the coast.

Viña Leyda is intrinsically linked to the Pacific coast. Established in 1998, it was the first winery built west of the Chilean coastal mountain range, producing exceptional cool climate wines.

Today, Viña Leyda is a renowned pioneer of cool, coastal Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Join us on this journey to Leyda: the way to an exciting adventure in Chilean wine.

Station #1: Discover the Leyda Valley• One of Chile’s most prestigious new wine regions; a stark contrast to the

hot central valley. • Viña Leyda is intrinsically linked to the coast and the Pacific Ocean in the

sole D.O. located west of Chilean coastal mountain range.• Cool, maritime climate heavily influenced by close ocean location.• Hot summers benefit from tempering effect of Humboldt Current.• Protective fog prevents frost, ideal for slow, extended ripening.• Yields wines with expressive aromatics

and flavor, and exquisite structure and balance.

• Low competition due to the shortage of water, yielding limited quantities of higher quality grapes.

Station #2: Leyda Valley Pioneers• Past: Chile was known for being one of the largest exporters of wine in the world , mainly

Central Valley red wines at low prices. Leyda Valley was limited to pastures & farming due to lack of water.

• 1997: Viña Leyda entrepreneurs discover Leyda Valley’s near perfect grape growing conditions and build 5-mile pipeline from the Maipo River to provide essential water supply.

• 1998: Viña Leyda is established, the first to plant west of the coastal range and showcase the results of the valley’s unique terroir and mastery of coastal viticulture.

• 2002: Leyda Valley D.O. established.

• Today: Viña Leyda continues as a fresh, innovative winery, dedicated to the use of technology and research to ensure every vine performs to its maximum potential. The winery continues to remains a pioneer by innovating in new clones, grape varieties, wines and coastal viticulture.

“This producer has been instrumental in helping transform a region once devoted to pasture and cereal-crop cultivation into a burgeoning vineyard realm for cool-climate grape varieties.”Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator, May 2014

Station #3: Leyda Vineyards & Viticulture• Pioneers in cold climate Chilean Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc and the

study of their micro-terroirs and clonal selections (non-Chilean).• Breathtaking hills of granite beneath an alluvial stone and clay surface.

Detailed soil studies conducted to determine best clonal selection for specific lots, ideal for producing small yields of concentrated grapes.

• Vineyards specifically designed to leverage the ocean proximity, utilizing wind patterns to naturally reduce humidity.

• Two newly constructed bottling and ageing facilities featuring small volume fermentation tanks, allowing greater control over the wines.

• State-of-the-art filtration system, temperature controls and cooling equipment.

• High-end research facilities to master the soil varieties, clonal selections and irrigation techniques.

Station #4: World Class Talent• Viviana Navarette, multi-awarded winemaker• Honored by the leading wine publications as one of Chile’s Top 10
