Each group has been given a solar panel. You should investigate the following properties of solar panels and report on your findings. Your report can be a talk (with graphs to back up your findings), a video or a PowerPoint. You have 2 hours to complete the experiments and 1 hour to prepare your presentation. All measurements taken for your presentation should be in V or mV (whichever is most appropriate) using the multimeter provided. You will be provided with a laptop computer and a video camera. You can incorporate video into your presentation. The presentations will be delivered at 2pm and should last about 5 minutes. Your presentation must be delivered in English, French and German. 1 Effect of solar panel area on voltage generated. 2 Effect of filters on voltage generated - red, yellow and blue. 3 Response of solar panels to red, green and blue lasers. 4 Effect of angle on voltage generated. 5 Effect of light intensity on voltage generated. 6 Effect of distance on voltage generated.

There are two wind mills set up in the room. You should carry out the following experiments when called to the windmills.
1 Effect of blade angle on voltage generated. 2 Effect of number of blades (calculate voltage as a function of blade mass). 3 Effect of wind speed (use fan setting as variable). You should include your findings in your solar power presentation. You can use the video camera to video your experiment.

You will be provided with the following equipment, the aim is to build a wave generator. You will have 1 hour to make the generator. We will then take them down to the sea for testing. You should film some of your work.
2 coils of wire2 magnets1 copper strip1 wooden block4 conducting wires4 crocodile clipsblu tak1 plastic box2 multimeters1 cardboard tubeScissorstape
Your aim is to build the wave generator shown in the photograph. You must try to make it just from this photograph. Good luck.
