CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

●Classroom expectations were shared with students the first day of school.

●Students who show inappropriate behavior will receive demerits or detentions.

●Some behaviors will automatically be assigned a detention.

●Detentions are served before or after school.

ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOKS/LOCKS

●Students are required to record daily assignments in their assignment notebook.●Parents and Teachers can communicate through written comments at the bottom of the page.●Replacement assignment notebooks cost $5.●Working locks are given to every student at the beginning of the year.●Replacement locks are $5.

TEAM HOMEWORK POLICIES

●Homework is required and should be turned in at the beginning of class.

●Assignments turned in late, unless due to absence or extenuating circumstances, will receive effort credit but a grade of zero.

ABSENT WORK POLICY- HOMEWORK●Homework due the day the student was absent is due the day the student returns.● Please try to limit absences so that your child does not miss valuable teaching time.●If your child is absent from school for three or more days, you may contact the office by 8:30 am in order to pick up work after school.

ABSENT WORK POLICY-CLASSWORK

●Students will have one day for every day they miss to make up work.

●Students are responsible for checking with their teachers when they return to school to see what classwork they missed.

●Classwork is not reflected on HW Hotline, but is an important component of a student’s grade and needs to be made up.

QUIZZES, TESTS, AND PROJECTS●As a team, we will do our best to spread out our quizzes, tests, and projects however, this is not always possible.●Some quizzes the students will know about and be able to study for ahead of time, other quizzes will be “pop” quizzes to check for understanding.●Students are always given ample time to work on projects and are encouraged to not wait until the last minute to start.

GRADES●Official grades are sent home in the middle and at the end of each quarter.

●Midterm and report card signatures are required. A signature is required on page 7 of your child’s assignment notebook acknowledging the receipt of midterm and quarterly grades.

●Parents and students can access grades on line through the Family Access system (separate handout). We encourage you to use our Family Access to keep track of your child’s grade. Please keep in mind we make every effort to keep grades updated, however they are not updated daily.

CONFERENCES●Conferences are held twice a year. Both fall and spring conferences are student led.

Our fall conference is an opportunity for you to communicate with your child and child’s teacher to review goals developed by your child for the academic year. ●Fall conferences are in November.●Spring conferences will be held in February.
