How to become a Christian

ANNOUNCEMENTS

This morning we welcome Rev. John Wallace to the pulpit. Prior to Ministry, John was educated and trained in Mechanical Engineering at GM Research Labs, the father of 7 children (2 deceased, 5 grown with their own children). He served with the Warren City Police Reserves, Sgt. 1967-72. Founder and Chief of the East Mullet Lake Fire Dept, owned and operated his own business in Indian River for 20 years. John is a graduate of Education for Ministry – University of the South, Graduate of Ministry Formation Program – Catholic Diocese of Gaylord, Graduate of CPE Program at NMH – Petoskey, Bachelors Program in Social Work – Madonna University, Ordained Episcopal Clergy, 1995 – Diocese of Eastern Michigan, completed Professionals in Residence for Spiritual Care Program (substance abuse) – Hazelden, MN. John is the Current Chaplain with the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Dept and 3 County 911 Center and served as Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Care (16 years) at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. Besides Pastoral Care, John is interested in Substance Abuse Treatment & Education, Politics (County Comm.), fishing & woodworking.

Alter Flowers this morning are in loving memory of our father, Don Pepper. From Dawn and Andrea Pepper.

Operation Shoe Box Collection – April is small stuffed toys, balls, little cars and jump rope month.The collection box is in the Fellowship Hall.

Holy Week – Maundy Thursday- Thursday, April 2nd at 6:00 p.m. There will be a ‘soup bowl’ gathering (not a dinner). Please sign up in the Fellowship Hall if you plan to attend so we have enough soup for all. Good Friday services will be held at St. Anthony’s, 1:00 p.m. The Church of the Straits will be open from 3-7 p.m. for prayer and quiet reflection. Join us next Sunday for Easter Breakfast at 9am. Bring a dish to pass. Sign-up sheet is in Fellowship Hall, or call Debbie Moore 436-5141.
