Father Richard Memorial Fund
Father Richard poured his whole self into living out Good Shepherd’s mission of discipleship and evangelization. One way to honor his legacy is by contributing to the Father Richard Memorial Fund which is directed toward the land acquisition debt. (Over $648,041.93 has
currently been donated towards our goal of $1.5 million.) Checks can be made out to Good Shepherd Catholic Community with “Father Richard Memorial Fund” on the memo line. Please keep Father Richard & his family in your prayers. May he rest in peace.

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ | June 14 FOOD FROM HEAVEN God sustained the people of Israel for forty years in the desert with manna sent down from heaven, and Moses doesn’t want them to forget it. God brought forth water from stone for them to drink, and Moses doesn’t want them to forget this, either. And Moses tells them—twice—that the food that God sent was a food that neither they nor their ancestors before them had ever experienced before. Jesus too speaks of food come down from heaven, food that the Jewish people had never experienced before. Recalling the manna in the desert, Jesus doesn’t want them to forget it either, explaining that he is the food and drink of eternal life. And Paul reiterates to the Corinthians and to all of us that in the bread and in the cup, we share in the body and blood of Christ. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Guardian Ministry
BECOME A GUARDIAN - GUARDIAN MINISTRY Our vision is to be a Catholic community that is alert and prepared to respond to any potential
emergency while maintaining an invitational and welcoming atmosphere. Armed Guardians are made up of trained armed volunteers who are responsible for controlling access points and contacting or containing potential threats or persons of concern. Their first priority will always be to de-escalate any situation to restore order. They will also have authority to utilize an appropriate level of force in order to repel violence and control a chaotic situation when immediately necessary in order to prevent the unlawful use of force or criminal activity of another. The Team will utilize a discreet and concealed security posture and should be comprised of servant leaders who are prepared to respond to resistance only when it is immediately necessary because there are no other options available. Initial Minimum Requirements: Texas License to Carry – Proof of a current Texas License to Carry must be provided in order to serve as an Armed Guardian. Social History – Complete a comprehensive self-report history statement that is reviewed and analyzed by a licensed Counselor. Safe Environment – Complete the training required by the Diocese of Fort Worth and remain current. Legal Service Membership – Armed Guardians must obtain legal service membership from an approved provider. Physical Standards: Kneeling – Have the capacity to move from standing to kneeling and back to standing again. Move Laterally – Have the capacity to move from side-to-side rapidly. Sprint – Have the capacity to sprint and close distance in a short time.

Tuesday Evening Scripture Studies
The New Testament’s “Other” Letters: A close look at the list of New Testament books discloses two collec-tions of letters. The first comprising the correspondence attributed to St. Paul and the second series of New Tes-tament documents from James through Jude. As letters these texts are recognized as attempts to address needs that arose in communities struggling to embody within their common lives the message of the gospel. The presence of two letter collections remind us that even earliest Christianity did not reflect a single, defini-tive understanding of the gospel. Join us as we listen to New Testament voices less often heard and, perhaps, even less often studied. Consider what these voices have to say about the life of the early Church and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Instructions for how to access and participate in the class will be given to those who register with their emails. We will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm beginning on June 23rd. Each summer Good Shepherd participates in the GRACE Feed Our Kids program by preparing and delivering sack lunches to kids in Grapevine who may not otherwise be eating lunch. Good Shepherd will be sponsoring two Feed Our Kids locations this summer from Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26, feeding between 120 and 160 kids each day. We are in need of many volunteers each day to prepare lunches at Good Shepherd for the GRACE loca-tions.
