Lamya Norton Jenny Linett [email protected] [email protected]

We provide support to English learners (ELs) across content areas to develop their social and academic language proficiency. Based on their needs, we monitor progress, modify assessments, and work with students in the classroom and in small-group settings. During distance learning, we will support classroom teachers and provide small-group support for ELs.

BOY Assessments How Can You as Parents Support?

- Your child should ‘do’ the best they can for the assessments at the beginning of the year. (this is an assessment - it is okay for them to struggle with beginning of the year content)

- Provide them with a quiet place - Give them their supplies - paper, pencils - have

it accessible- Be positive - this is different and can be hard

for students to concentrate- Let the teacher or counselor know if your child

is struggling socially/emotionally with the virtual learning

We will be assessing students through a variety of ways (1 on 1, Imagine Learning, i-Ready, and Beginning of the Year Math (MCA).

Please do not assist your child in any assessments as it will provide us inaccurate information of what your child knows and is able to do independently.
