Program ObjectivesThe structural welder certificate of technology provides students with entry-level skills for immediate employment within the workforce. Courses apply in-depth knowledge and skills within shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) to prepare students to pass many structural welding tests as required by industry, fabrication companies and shipyards. These courses may also be applied toward the stick pipe welder occupational certificate, combination welder certificate of technology and the associate of applied science in welding technology.
Job OpportunitiesGraduates may expect positions throughout industry and fabrication facilities as helpers, tackers, or structural welders.
